About this listen
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Wish comes a poignant love story about risking everything for a dream—and whether it's possible to leave the past behind.
Fate drew them together...but will their dreams tear them apart?
Colby Mills once felt destined for a musical career, but tragedy grounded his dreams. Now the dust has settled, he spontaneously takes a gig playing at a bar in Florida, seeking a rare break from his duties at home.
But when he meets Morgan Lee, his world is turned upside-down, and Colby can't help but wonder if the responsibilities he has shouldered need dictate his life forever. Morgan is on her way to Nashville with plans to become a star and she wants Colby to come with her.
While they are falling headlong in love, Beverly is on a heart-pounding journey of another kind. Fleeing an abusive husband with her six-year-old son, she is trying to piece together a new life in a small town far off the beaten track. Danger is never far and her money is fast running out.
In the course of a single unforgettable week, three very different people will have their own ideas of love put to the test. As fate draws them together, they will each be forced to question whether the dream of a better life can ever overcome the weight of the past.

Another amazing read!!
He’s done it again. Nicholas Sparks really does know how to write a good book. Although a little co fixing to begin with as seems liked two separate books, how they fit together in the twist was nothing I could have expected. Cried at the end. Such an amazing read or listen!!!

Cute story
Can’t say I was impressed with the story. It seemed a bit hurried. It is meant to be a trialling love story, but the whole plot seemed pushed to make it work. Overall, not impressed.

Interesting
This was a different direction for Sparks. At first I was irritated by some of its repetitiveness but once you get it, you get it. As a writer, he tells the readers rather than showing them which I don’t like but overall it was a good story cleverly told.

Wonderful ending to the book!
I will start with the positives;
I thought the ending of this book was brilliant. It was so well rounded and I feel nothing was left to spare and no unanswered questions left. The characters were alright. And I thought the description of the scenes were brilliant very easy to imagine.
Not so great;
I found the change between 2 stories wrapped up in one very confusing and I didnt really enjoy that aspect at all, despite it making sense in the end. The characters could have been a little more creative. I would have liked to feel more linked to the characters. I felt it didn't quite get all my emotions firing.
All in all a good read but I wasn't jumping to the book whenever I had time to spare !

Partiality disappointed with ending
This book follows two plots and I knew that at some point they would merge….but I had to wait until quite near the end.
I was totally invested in Beverly’s story so beautifully told by Therese Plummer, so felt very let down by the way it evolved at the end. ( docking one star because of this)
Coby’s story came to a more enjoyable ending.
