Summary
From New York Times best-selling author Penelope Ward comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I'd never been able to forget - even though he so easily forgot about me - and call him.
Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you've had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless prank call. Instead I went off on him - unloading 13 years of pent-up emotions.
I didn't think he'd call me back.
I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he'd become.
Turned out Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn't know. And he had his own secrets.
Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night I did something impulsive again. Only this time I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.
A complete stand-alone.

Good
I like Penelope Ward's books. I liked this book right until one of the last chapters and I still can't quite fathom out why it was included. In my opinion it wasn't necessary. It didn't add to the story, so why include it.
Otherwise another good read from Penelope Ward and narrated by the brilliant Andi Arndt.

Stepbrother Dearest is my favourite PW novel, but Landon gives Elec a run for his money.
As always Penelope Ward has given her readers a. Oil that will not be easily forgotten. Apart from Stepbrother Dearest, which is my favourite PW book, Drunk Dial comes a very close second. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and a knew as soon as I had read the blurb it was a must-read.
This is the second audiobook I have listened to, and unfortunately I was a huge fan of the narrators performance when it came to Landon. It just seemed a little cheesy, and will probably make me read all books in the future. I can't really explain it, I think I prefer my own inner voice when it comes to the characters.
That being said, this was an amazing and addictive story, that has become a favourite of mine and will most definitely have me buying the PB, so that I may read it again in the future.
