About this listen
This book goes from 'tell-all' to 'dead men tell no tales.'
Retired English teacher Myrtle Clover is frequently asked to proofread for friends. So she wasn't totally surprised when her friend Pearl asked her to take a look at her memoir and polish it up.
But before Myrtle could pull out her red pen, Pearl was found murdered.
Now Myrtle and her senior sidekick Miles must track down the memoir and the murderer before the killer makes any more final revisions.

A book to write about
I loved this book. There is something about an entertaining mystery that keeps you guessing that is just simply the best and this author has hit on that winning combination. You would think at book 14 the series wouldn't still capture my imagination but it does. I love picturing the antics Myrtle and her sidekick Miles get up to. The rest of the cast of characters are just as quirky and certainly make the series entertaining. The books can be read in any order and are great stand alone mysteries but you will be missing out on hours of if not laughs then at least chuckles, as the gnomes come out and get put back. No it's not a fantasy story but the gnomes come out every time Myrtle is cross with her police chief son and as you can imagine it happens a lot in a cozy mystery where an octogenarian is investigating. The mystery is good with plenty of suspects and motives. My kind of mystery and I can't wait for the next book.
As a retired English teacher Myrtle love nothing better than getting out her red pen and correcting grammar. So when a friend asks her to edit her memoirs she jumps at the chance. Before she can even read the first line the manuscript is stolen and when Myrtle and Miles go to tell her, they discover her body. It seems somebody doesn't want the tell all book to come out but who wants the family secrets to stay buried badly enough that they will kill? Myrtle and Miles plan to find out even if the police chief isn't convinced there is anything to investigate. Aided by a feral cat and psychic predictions can the pair find the killer? Before anyone else gets hurt?
I liked the narrator. The author has used a different narrator this time but it didn't effect the telling of the story. The characters were still easy to picture and just as entertaining.I

Loved this cozy mystery so much!!
I loved this book! It reminded me of the TV show 'Murder She Wrote.' I especially loved the interaction between Myrtle and her sidekick, Miles. All the characters were well-developed, and the plot and brilliant dialogue gripped me from the first line. Sucked into the mystery, I continued anxiously to the next chapter and the next. Listening to the audiobook, I contemplated who the killer might be, but the author kept me guessing until the end. The narrator, Lisa Lynn Sandlin, did an excellent job with this fantastic book. I highly recommend giving it a listen or reading it.
