About this listen

Discover three classic novels by the literary genius Edith Wharton.

Inside this bundle, you’ll find three stories which established Edith Wharton as a literary legend.

Originally written over a hundred years ago, these stories have stood the test of time to resonate in the hearts of people to this very day. Reflecting the life of the upper-class aristocrats and socialites, The House of Mirth and The Age of Innocence offer tragic tales, while Ethan Frome tells a story in a small wintery town of Massachusetts.

With complex characters, tragic endings, and a timeless quality which explores the social customs of the upper class, these books are perfect for anyone interested in the literary genre.

Narration

This is the worst narration I have ever experienced.
August ( the month) instead of August( or-gust)….
Idols of the King…instead of Idylls
Black-guard …instead of ‘blaggard’
And the last straw was calling Monsieur Rivière ( M. Rivière)….EM. Rivière all through this awful narration .
Doesn’t anybody listen to these recordings. This man shouldn’t be let loose near beautiful literature ever again. I’m squirming listening to it…. Poor Edith Wharton must be climbing out of her grave!!
This rendition is by a man with the reading age of my 8 year old granddaughter.

Edith Wharton ruined by Narration

It sounded like it was being read by an app with an american accent and with the intonations constantly in the wrong places

Awful narrator

Absolutely awful with female voices, a pity and a waste

I was really looking forward to this
