Sweet Christian story HOWEVER...
Quite a sweet story. I have learnt some nice things from Elsie about trusting God, however I do not entirely agree with the Victorian style portrayal of children's upbringing ('children should be seen and not heard' etc). Also at times Elsie behaves like a 'carpet' when she is abused and I'm not sure that is a Biblical picture of a Christian necessarily...

A difficult listen
I realise that this story was written a while ago but, listening to the constant emotional abuse that Elsie’s father inflicts on her is difficult to listen to.
It actually made me angry!
Elsie is also constantly bullied by her other family members and it’s just very unpleasant. I couldn’t finish the book.
The performance is decent and I liked how the performer made the voices different for different characters.
