Summary
Ultimate soldier. Ultimate mission. But can the SAS assault team rescue the hostages from the terrorist-held Iranian embassy?
30 April 1980: six well-armed terrorists seize the Iranian Embassy in London. Nineteen Iranian nationals and four British citizens are captured.
Subsequent negotiations see some hostages released, but when, on the fifth day of the siege, one of the hostages is shot dead, his body dumped outside, the time for negotiation is over. It is time to end the siege, and the only men with enough skill and daring for this dangerous task are the legendary SAS! In fact, convinced they will eventually be called in, they have already practiced a high-risk rescue operation in their top secret ‘Killing House’.
On the evening of 5 May – and in the full glare of the international media – twelve SAS soldiers, dressed in black and wielding a deadly arsenal, make their courageous assault on the Embassy…

Tense and exciting as all these books are !
The whole story brilliantly portrayed and showing how tense it was. Enjoyable to listen to and a reminder for me of things that made me join the forces.

Not convinced
The narrators perception of the SAS soldiers made them look like idiots. I did not like the way they were portrayed at all and was cringing every time the narrator attempted to talk as they would. It made them look like novices and the nicknames were not ideal and did not match an SAS soldier. The story was good but portrayal of an ELITE SAS soldier could have been an awful lot better and should have been the main body of the story

Abit messy and not a good as some
This book is very messy and rushed although the content is good, could be so much better with structure and care. Instead is rushed it's verbally and content wise, so you can't really settle to enjoy.

Amazing
As a huge fan of the SAS and the embassy siege this was great, even having watched documentarys on the embassy siege in particular. It brings a new level of detail to the operation.

I remember watching this unfold on live TV. SAS nailed it in about 45 minutes.

Good story. Interactions were a bit cringe
The story was good, seemed like a well researched piece on the goings on at Princess Gate
The interactions between the team were absolute cringe though…No one in the SAS talks to each other like that. Apart from that decent enough.
