Wanted to try a different type of romance from what I usually listen to. I very much enjoyed this once I got into it. I listened to the foreword and prologue twice as there is a lot of names, historical places and battles happening and needed to engage the setting in my head before moving on. (thats the great thing with audible). The narrator had a NZ accent which I was not expecting but grew on me quickly. The story is good and I really enjoyed the various characters throughout. They all interacted well and I liked the villains. I look forward to the next in the series as you can tell it is not going to be plain sailing. I hope some of the villainous characters in book 1 are also back in the next book.
