This book changed my world view

I can't remember having read a book that has had a more profound impact on the way I look at the world around me.

Not only is this stuff fascinating but it drives home the point that everything is interconnected and that we humans crash around the world in almost complete ignorance of how it works.

A must read!!

Enlightening

One of the best introductions into a world we cannot see. A mycologist describing the world the seek to understand, a world filled with wonder and possibilities. The world beneath.
Sheldrakes voice is calming and just a little dreamy in a geek fest way. I’m almost tempted to listen again, so I can ingest the information within once again, but also because I have found this a relaxing and enlightening pastime I would wish to repeat.

Informative, alluring and essential

If you want to understand the world, it would be easy to ignore mushrooms - but one shouldn't. To understand life is to understand death, and to understand death is to understand funghi. Ever wondered if it's pronounced 'fun guy' or 'fun ghee', then read it. You'll be richer for it and uncover new perspectives on life, nature, the human (or not human?) mind, evolution, and the philosophies of capitalism and socialism. A bit biological at times, but worth it when you want to enrich your mind while going about your day. Merlin's gentle and earthy storytelling tops it off. Enjoy!

Wow, wow, wow!

Beautifully read by Merlin himself what an amazing book. Filled with amazing facts and a beguiling account of this world which is mainly hidden from view. It lit up parts of my brain I had not used in years!
