Summary
Evolutionary Psychology is a uniquely accessible yet comprehensive guide to the study of the effects of evolutionary theory on human behaviour. Written specifically for the general listener and for entry-level students, it covers all the most important elements of this interdisciplinary subject, from the role of evolution in our selection of partner, to the influence of genetics on parenting.
This audiobook draws widely on examples, case studies and background facts to convey a substantial amount of information, and is authored by the UK’s leading experts in the field, from the only dedicated research and teaching institute.
Editor reviews
While Darwin's theories paved the way for a general public understanding of evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology - the study of psychological traits from an evolutionary perspective - is less understood. This introductory guide, written by UK experts Robin Dunbar, Louise Barrett , and John Lycett, shines a light on the theories behind this rapidly-expanding field. A collected and confident narration from actress Miranda Nation enhances the listening experience, making it easy for listeners to absorb the varied array of in-depth information, case studies, and anecdotal examples.

Excellent Introduction to Evolutionary Psychology
Narration brilliant.
Content, just right for me with only limited psychological and evolutionary knowledge (I'm a Science Teacher).
Particularly like the chapter summaries.
On to The Moral Animal next.

Great introduction and then it wanes a little but comes on strong in the later chapters culminating in a good explanation of how we are moralistic animals and our instinct may indeed be the saviour of our spieces

Authors made a great achievement.
A book that a layman as well as learned can learn and consolidate his/her understanding of the subject. Well done to authors. I also must compliment the performer.
