Action-packed from the beginning!
My goodness! This audiobook really draws the audience in right from the start. It is "Go, Go, GO!!!" for Mari and Chris from even before they meet. But between the lies, gun-fire, reptiles, head injuries and more, an enduring romance blossomed.
What I really liked was that Amy McKinley gave both characters complex backstories that she wove into the short lulls between the moments of stress and action. It worked well with the story without disrupting the momentum of the plot.
I also appreciated that the characters did not go from these high stress situations into a perfect HEA. Don't get me wrong, they have their HEA but they also take the time to grow their relationship outside of all the drama.
Overall, this was a fun Romantic Suspense book that I really enjoyed. I am definitely going to listen to the rest of the series because I am sure Amy McKinely will deliver more high-octane romance! Regan Brown did a great job narrating this book too.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Exciting and fast paced
Eye of the Storm Audio Book by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Gray Ghost series. After listening to book one I could not wait to jump straight into this audio book. I was so pleased to hear that it was the same narrator as book one and I found myself drawn straight back into her easy story telling. Again I loved how distinct each of the characters were and how easy it was to visualise everything - even easier than it was when I was reading the series. It is such and exciting book. I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed Chris and Mark’s story. For me they were a couple that worked right from the start and I was behind them all the way. This is a fantastic book and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

An exciting & thrilling story!
Eye of the Storm is a fast-paced action-pack, romantic suspense, set in the jungle surrounded by peril. The storyline is gripping, packed with mystery and unexpected twists and turns; it literally had me on the edge of my seat. Our hero, Chris, while on a dangerous assignment, is airdropped in the dense Colombian jungle. Unfortunately, he sustains an injury causing him to lose his memories and is unable to remember anything, his whereabouts, the mission, nor anything that could help him. Fortunately for Chris, he meets Mari, a feisty woman with secrets; she supports him and helps him with his amnesia. The romance takes more of a back seat to all the danger and excitement, which I didn't mind. I prefer stories to be more character and plot-focused. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book, Beneath the Surface. Excellent narration by Regan Brown. She captured the characters personalities, emotions, and intensity found in the pages. Overall, Eye of the Storm was a fantastic listen, one I'll highly recommend.

That’s one way to get a man
Eye of the storm sees Chris waking up in the jungle unsure of who, what and where he is. But there is hope for him yet when a lovely lady is forced to help. And from he we get a story that has mis truths, action, adventure and an ending that at least a few of the characters are going to be truly happy about. It was another enjoyable story in this series. You could listen to this book as a stand-alone but I recommend that you listen to the first book.
Regan does amazing work on the narration of these books.

Great story, kept me hooked from the start
I really enjoyed this story. It was action packed from beginning to end and really kept me hooked.
Mari has escaped her old life and is trying to get to the US. She has been betrayed and ends up near guerrilla territory, but is then helped escape again on the understanding that she looks after Chris, who has amnesia. So she looks after him to help ensure her safety, hoping that they can escape before his memory returns.
I liked Mari as a character, she was brave and competent in looking after herself, certainly not someone who would normally need rescuing. Chris has to rely on Mari but desperately wants his memory back.
The slow build to their relationship happens with a drip feed of Mari's past and Chris's memory returning, I certainly added to the suspense.
I enjoyed the tie-in to the previous book, although this one can certainly be read as a standalone.
The narrator, Regan Brown, does an excellent job and I loved Mari's accent, it definitely helped with defining the characters. I would absolutely listen to more of her narration.

Kept me hooked
This was fast paced, adventure story packed with action and twists. Mari was amazing as the lead female protagonist, strong and competent and so brave. Completely kick arse and I love that she was the one doing the rescuing. Set in the Columbian jungle, Mari is tasked with rescuing Chris in exchange for her freedom to live in the US and leave her old life behind. I didn't realise that this was the second book in the series and so I am intrigued to read the first and any follow ups. I really enjoy McKinley as a writer and I felt that Regan Brown did a fantastic job of bringing her novel to life.

Brilliant Story
Eye of the Storm is an action packed story from start to finish, the story is set within the deepest of the jungle but will he be able to trust her or will she turn on him in the end.
This story is full of twists and turns, it will have you chasing the story with each turn of the page to be part of the story as you go. The book is set in the jungle and follows the story of Chris and Mari, as Chris is airdropped into this dense jungle he does not quite reach his destination and becomes stuck and unable to remember who he is and how he has got there, until he meets Mari who helps him try to understand who he is but Chris is no sure he can trust her.
Mari is on a mission of her own, this feisty, strong character who does not take any nonsense, she has grown up in the most dangerous environment but she is on her own mission which she will not defer from.
I loved this story with the twists and turns and the action had me gripped and wanting to keep listening even in the wee hours of the morning to finish this wonderful story. I loved the character of Mari, she was a kick ass women who knew what she wanted and went for it. The relationship between Mari and Chris was dynastic and interesting within the story.
