Narration too fast
Brilliant story (as are all the Famous Five books). For me, the only thing that was disappointing was the narration. Sarah Greene's voice was ok but she spoke far too fast.

A Fantastic Five Adventure, This Time Unabridged
I first visited this book about thirty years ago when I bought a double cassette copy which, being around two hours fifteen minutes, was abridged and what a joy it was to visit the full unabridged book for the first time. Quite a few people have found Sarah Greene to be a rather bad narrator, but though not perhaps up to Jan Francis, I found her reading to be very much enjoyable. I remember I was in fits of laughter when I first heard the abridged copy when George took Junior his breakfast and the meeting including Henning, Durlston, Grandad, William Finniston and the rest at the end was fantastic. One thing's for sure, when I'm finished the final book I won't be able to resist revisiting the series.

Poor narration
Sarah Greene read this famous five book far far too fast and that's why it's an hour shorter than the titles Jan Francis had narrated. Disappointing

Come back Jan Francis
I don't want to be too harsh on Sarah Greene, whose voice is largely easy on the ear, but this was a disappointment after all the Jan Francis-narrated stories. Jan was absolutely masterful with pace, clarity, the character's voices and feeling. This was read way too fast, which spoilt it, and my son had got used to hearing the voices of each individual character, performed so well by JF. So, OK, because it's another great story but we're disappointed not have had JF narrating.
