Twenty-nine-year-old plus-size blogger Stephanie Yeboah has experienced racism and fat-phobia throughout her life. From being bullied at school to being objectified and humiliated in her dating life, Stephanie's response to discrimination has always been to change the narrative around body-image and what we see as beautiful.

Deep and honest
it is always nice to read about a follow fat black women her experiences. This book reminded me that at the core we are individuals and even though we share the same body almost we can be and are always unique

Lessons learned, boosted confidence & nice to listen to
The content of the book had so many lessons from it’s point of view from a black fat woman. But also relatable, growing up as a fat child with no role models. A must read book if you’re seeking help in getting body confident. The stories of life experience give you a point of view which concludes to stop wanting to change, stop wanting to fit in (literary) and to start living your life.
Stephanie’s voice is so nice to listen to, soothing and relaxed but also witty.

This book should be required listening - I have laughed and cried and have learned so much. The author tells her story in a beautiful, authentic way. Her story needs to be told and her voice listened to.

Fantastic, honest and informative
Hearing her voice read it is brilliant. Such honest and quite tough stories in this book with insight into what life is like as a fat black woman in the uk. Statistics with mental health and also physical health are quite shocking and it really woke me up that even medical professionals are fat-phobic. Very much enjoyed listening to this so so much

Nicely read
its the shame that part of the book is so factual when it comes to diet info etc but completely did not link the lack of non hourglass bottle blondes to mens perception of women and her experiences. Also I'm surprised it wasn't even mentioned once the extra difficulties plus size disabled women go though which increases for black women.
