About this listen

Read by the author, Finding Sarah is an extraordinarily personal memoir by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. As she spends time with Dr. Phil McGraw, she gains a new understanding of her relationship with herself and with others. Suze Orman helps Sarah unravel the poisonous money issues she suffers from. Martha Beck teaches her how let go of her negative self-image. Many other friends and experts populate this audiobook and you will meet them all. Sarah's journey, in so many ways, is everyone's journey and as she shares her story with us she also shares the advice and wisdom she benefited from along the way. Her struggles with adversity have taught her that life's lows can become a source of strength and courage. She knows, first hand, what it means to feel lost and she also knows that it is never too late to find your way back, to attain your goal, to take back control of your life and to make a special dream come true. Through intimate diary excerpts and personal emails from friends and family, Sarah opens herself unsparingly. From every page of this book you will hear from Sarah's friends and guides, her "real-life angels," as they help her get to the root of her problems - from comfort eating to self-loathing, from reckless over-spending to notorious mishaps.

You will learn from them, as she did. In this way, Sarah hopes not only to talk to you as a friend but to inspire you, through her own experiences, to look closely at your own life and where you wish to improve it, then to encourage you to follow your instincts and find your true path. Sarah Ferguson did, and so can you.

Inspiring - Insightful - Empowering

When one woman shares her journey in such an open, honest and powerful way it helps to light the dark spaces that so many of us find ourselves in. Thank you

Loved it.

I thought this was brilliant. Listened and finished in three days of gardening. Hope she narrates more of her onward story. Lovely person , who deserves more credit that she’s ever received. She and Andrew have done a wonderful job with the children too.

'It's not my fault'

I listened to this audiobook with an open mind. Being quietly pre-disposed to feeling sorry for Sarah. Sadly I soon became aware that is a therapist speak schpiel which attempts to absolve the author of all blame and responsibility for her reckless and bad behaviour. She appears to be wholly without moral compass and totally self un-aware. And continues to be so. In short... SF is her own worst enemy. I wish I'd not purchased it and could un-hear it.

Boring

To be honest, this is exactly what I expected, so I'm not sure why I'm disappointed:

A privileged woman complaining about her privledged upbringing, expecting sympathy for her entitled behaviours that got her in trouble. Basically it sounds like she may have had some therapy where they explained to her the links between her upbringing, sense of self and behaviours.

In summary, when she was little, she was taught she is entitled bcus she's rich etc and also that she should help less fortunate people as it makes her look good and feel good. Her childhood "traumas" were pretty priveledged that most people with actual serious childhood trauma will be rolling their eyes hearing this.

Obviously when she became a big girl, she liked helping people for above reasons and continued her self entitled behaviours that eventually got her into trouble.

If you know of the current scandle with Prince Andrew & Epstien & you saw the embarrassing interview, you'll see why these 2 were made for one another.

Its so embarrassing that the royals are all so out of touch. Thank god for "upper class" accents disguising stupidity!

On the positive side:

I will say, though, that it's great that fergie showed some gumption following the contraversies. Despite her bad reputation, she just gets on with it and shows strength. She turns up. Good example of just getting on with it. Something that she also had the privilege to learn in her childhood.

Overall a boring book and very glad I can return it and get my credit back so I can buy a deserving autobiography to spend my pennies on!
