About this listen

’Not just a readable, pacey account of an extraordinary individual and his quixotic quest … but also a troubling exposé of the fragility of our entire financial system … I loved it’
Oliver Bullough, author of Moneyland

For fans of Bad Blood and The Big Short, the story of how one reclusive trading prodigy manipulated Wall Street and amassed millions from his childhood bedroom – then short-circuited the global market.

A real-life financial thriller, Flash Crash gives panoramic insight into our economic landscape – its weaknesses, its crooks and its exploitable loopholes – and uncovers the remarkable, behind-the-scenes narrative of a mystifying market crash, a globe-spanning investigation into international fraud, and the man – Navinder Singh Sarao – at the centre of it all.

Depending on whom you ask, Sarao was a scourge, a symbol of a financial system run horribly amok, or a folk hero: an outsider who took on the tyranny of Wall Street and the high-frequency traders.

Good book, poorly read

Am interesting story, well researched, but unfortunately poorly read in a very staccato style. But worth a read anyway.

Highly recommended

Thr author did his research really well and offers a very well rounded perspective on Nav Sarao, there are times you hate him and times you feel empathy towards him!

Amazing

One of my favourite listens! It honestly kept me so hooked and was narrated brilliantly, with the storyline flowing so smoothly all the way through.
It had the perfect mix of in depth explanation and easy to understand language so the whole thing was accessible.
Highly recommend to anyone interested in the markets or finance, and even people who know nothing about either would enjoy this book.

Brilliant, Thrilling and Easy for a Layperson to Understand

A story far more interesting than the Wolf of Wall Street. The Hound of Hounslow makes for thrilling reading - definitely guilty but victim of the system, Vaughan takes us through the eccentric world of day trading where fortunes are made and lost between the opening and closing bells - who is guilty? You decide...

Really great

A lot of information in this book you just don't find elsewhere. The story really should be made into a movie.

Nice insight into the inside dealings of traders

Nice insight into the inside dealings of traders . The narration was done well which made it easy to complete.

I love the down to earth description of the main character, with references such as "bruv" sprinkled throughout. I could just picture the scene.

If you are on the fence, don't be, just buy this.
