Summary
Harry Flashman: the unrepentant bully of Tom Brown’s schooldays, now with a Victoria Cross, has three main talents – horsemanship, facility with foreign languages and fornication. A reluctant military hero, Flashman plays a key part in most of the defining military campaigns of the 19th century, despite trying his utmost to escape them all.
If only Flashman had got on with his dinner and ignored the handkerchief dropped by a flirtatious hussy in a Calcutta hotel … Well, American history would have been different, a disastrous civil war might have been avoided, and Flashman himself would have been spared one of the most hair-raising adventures of his misspent life.
If only … But, alas, the arch-rotter of the Victorian age could never resist the lure of a pretty foot. Good story let down by audio production
The story is good like most of GMF's work. The audio book is let down by the volume of the narration, which varies between to quite to hear to deafeningly loud.

Long but enjoyable
As usual the narration was excellent made me laugh out loud a lot .
Flashman is a bastard but a likeable one at that .Very enjoyable.

Another great Flashman from GMF!
The way in which GMF weaves Flashy into the great historical events of the 1800s never ceases to amaze me. Changing sides to save his skin, lying, cheating and tumbling every 'lady' he runs into, this is Flashman at his best!

This entire series is marred by mispronunciations
Flashman is a globetrotting Victorian woman who uses a vocabulary that often goes beyond the everyday, and the narrator so frequently mispronounces unusual words that it becomes an annoyance and a distraction from Fraser’s rattling good yarns.
It is not difficult to find out how to pronounce words, which is the business that Audible and the narrator are in, and they have fallen short in basic due diligence.
