About this listen
Danger in the air. Lovers on the brink.
A Charm of Magpies, Book 3: With the justiciary understaffed, a series of horrifying occult murders to be investigated, and a young student who is flying - literally - off the rails, magical law enforcer Stephen Day is under increasing stress. And his relationship with his aristocratic lover, Lord Crane, is beginning to feel the strain. Crane chafes at the restrictions of England's laws, and there's a worrying development in the blood-and-sex bond he shares with Stephen. A development that makes a sensible man question if they should be together at all.
When a thief strikes at the heart of Crane's home, a devastating loss brings his closest relationships into bitter conflict - especially his relationship with Stephen. And as old enemies, new enemies, and unexpected enemies paint the lovers into a corner, the pressure threatens to tear them apart.
Warning: Contains hot-blooded sex, cold-blooded murder, sinister magical goings-on, and a lot of swearing.

Adventure
Another great adventure in this series of books. Each installment grows the characters and mythology of this imagined world.

Fitting end to the trilogy
I stumbled on this series by accident and really enjoyed it.
Great characterisation, plots and excellent narration throughout.
Some have commented on the relative shortness but the prologues at the end of each book are enjoyable in their own right and serve to bridge to the next book.

A great ending
KJ Charles did it again - a gripping story with whopping great bits of peril that I couldn’t work out how Stephen and Crane would get out of… and a couple of bits I didn’t see coming at all! Great narration too!

Great series
This is not the best book in the series but it's still very good. The narrator is superb.

The weakest in the trilogy
The weakest mystery plot in the trilogy. I was also not a fan of the new background relationship, and the other MC (Stephen) was very unlikeable fir the first half of this book.
