Summary
Waiting for the right guy. Ella Couture didn't mean to save herself. But success runs in the family, and Ella, a fiery and self-made interior decorator, never wanted to settle for anything less than a quality man. But another disappointing breakup has Ella flirting with the idea of a meaningless fling - because this whole v-card business has gone on for way too long.
When Ella visits her brother, Lance, for the weekend, she finds herself all alone with his teammate Radar. The rugged hockey star is tall, chiseled, and gorgeous - and based on his past, he won't get attached. It's a nice fantasy...but Ella isn't the type of girl to sleep with her brother's best friend. That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway....
Live by the code, die by the code. On the ice, tough guy "Radar" enforces the code of the game with his fists. He won't let anyone mess with the team's superstar center, Lance Couture.
Radar might sleep around, but he knows to keep his distance when Lance's sister visits the two roommates at their Boston condo. The code has a rule about family members, after all: They're strictly off-limits. Not that Radar's worried about breaking that rule - he's already heard an earful about how insane his best bud's younger sis is.
But Lance never said anything about Ella being a cute babe with an adorable laugh. And he definitely never said anything about how she's finally ready to lose her v-card....
But if Radar can't keep his hands off Ella, not only will he stab his best friend in the back - he'll ruin everything for which he's worked. So why can't he get that girl out of his mind?

Sweet
Very sweet, predictable and easy but that was expected. The performance of the narrators was great.

Cute Hockey Romance
Waiting for the right guy. Ella Couture didn't mean to save herself. But success runs in the family, and Ella, a fiery and self-made interior decorator, never wanted to settle for anything less than a quality man. But another disappointing breakup has Ella flirting with the idea of a meaningless fling - because this whole v-card business has gone on for way too long.

That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway....
June Winters writes a cute hockey romance, this is the 2nd book in this series I have read, and even though I read book2 of the series first, each one is about a different hockey member so they don't need to be read in order.
The narration on this was brilliant and the story line was adorable, your typical best friend's kid sister trope, enemies to lovers which are both two of my favorite tropes.
I love the way she makes her characters so sweet that you just can't help liking them and the humor in this book was brilliant. I love a romance that is filled with engaging dialogue and banter that also makes you chuckle and this one delivers.
It's slightly shorter at just 6hours play time which I listened to in 3hours as I always set my audio to x2 speed for a more natural flow otherwise it sounds way too slow.
The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five is purely because I'd have liked more of their story together at the end after all the trope business and it felt a little rushed to be placed in the epilogue but that is my opinion only. Otherwise it was a well produced and narrated production for audible.

this was extremely annoying
I love hockey romance, but this was severely unlikeable!!! the portrayal of 'team spirit' and athlete behaviour. Lance was a superb A**hole and bully.

speechless
Such an amazing story!! i honestly laughed my heart out, a cozy read. Well written story, and characters! Her brother may be an ass but he's a helpful ass to get the story moving between the two main characters, ella and sonar😂🤣. clever dialogues and jokes too!
As far as the narrators are concerned, they did an amazing job too! i enjoyed every single part of this audiobook, i read it without pausing👀

Both yes and no, don’t know…
So I liked it and didn’t like it at the same time. I think it was the story that I liked but the writing felt a bit so so. It was a bit rushed and it felt like it didn’t really connect me to the characters. Also there were no character development or growth. They were like fixed objects that just got together (super unrealistically quick even) and went about their lives. The narration was great though, really liked it but believe the writing hindered it a bit too.

Idk how I feel about it it was a good ish story kinda generic and definitely done before but it was a cute and fast story and wasn’t boring. Would recommend if your looking for a cliche brothers best friend story.
