About this listen
Dragon shifters. Undead. Revenge.
Life has not been the same since the attack on the ship. Affected by the Druid's power, something dark lurks within Hadrian Vulmar, threatening the existence of those around him. Following a lead, Zacriah and Nyah head into the forest on an expedition to cure him.
When they are ambushed by the living dead - bodies controlled by shadow - covered in the Druid marks, they know the Druid did not perish in the sea as they first thought. The Druid is back, and with his return comes the threat of attack.
The three known Dragori are sent on a dangerous quest to stop this dark magick before Hadrian gives into his new power and the shadow beings end more innocent lives.

The MCs make a lot of foolhardy choices throughout. Some, more egregious than others.
This book is merely weeks after the first book, yet it's as though years have passed & it doesn't really make any sense.
Zacriah was up until a few weeks before the start of this book, a country bumpkin, yet in this book, he acts as though he's royalty & everybody should just bow down to him at all times. Especially at the start of the this book, he's extremely arrogant.
He clearly has a lot of anger management issues, which again... make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Hadrian was more of a background character in this book, much to its detriment, as he is the most interesting one out of the pairing.
Zacriah is too immature & it's hard to believe that they're both the same age.
The author is asking for a massive suspension of disbelief, that news would reach them that the 4th Dragori had been exiled from her village, but that no one knew who she was related to (I kinda cottoned on in the last book, during a specific conversation, but I brushed it aside as I thought it didn't make any sense, read comment above as to why not)... also, why wouldn't her family member bring her with them if they were that concerned about her, but left her with strangers.
Even more inane, this person hears that their family member hates them & wants to kill them, yet they still do the Druid's bidding?!? Make it make sense 🤦♀️
As the title says, it delves too deeply into Sillyville for it to be truly enjoyable, as most of the characters make incredibly dumb decisions throughout.
Only Emmaline is Queen Cathene's subject... yet, the Queen is issuing commands as though she's the Empress of that entire work. Even when the author recognises that fact, it's still a prominent part of the plot.
Nyah, Zacriah & Hadrian are subjects of Thessalonya, so WHY did they have to use subterfuge for Nyah to follow?! She falls under Hadrian's rule not Queen Cathene's... that entire plot with Queen Cathene was moronic.
She was an extremely short sighted Queen throughout.
& this book reaffirms what I thought from the last book... if the Druid, who was pretending to be Hadrian's dad & he only needed ONE Dragori... WHY didn't he just use Hadrian when he was best placed to do so?!
Why this whole charade?!? & if only one was needed, why not use the one who was already under his spell?!
The author tries too hard to make Zacriah the MAIN character in a story where 4 characters all have similar powers & it doesn't really make any sense!
just went too far into Sillyville
