About this listen
She’s a disgraced pop star. He’s the frontman of Black Rosary. Their worlds are about to collide and nothing will ever be the same again.
Ten years ago, I fell in love. The pop princess and the rock star. On paper, we should never have worked. In public, she was a sweet girl-next-door bubble-gum pop singer. But when we were together, her passion matched mine. I was ready to make her mine forever, and then she told me it was over.
Five years ago I walked away from him. He was everything I shouldn’t want, yet the only thing I’d ever craved. My contract demanded I uphold a certain reputation. So we had to keep our relationship a secret, because we didn't fit the mold. But then my label found out, and they gave me two options. Lose him or lose everything.

Marley is my rockstar
I listened to this narrated by the wonderful Thomas Locklear (Damn that man's voice when he growls!).
After listening to Forgotten Legacy series where Marley is introduced, I was so looking forward to this. And I was not disappointed. Marley, the front man to rock band Black Rosary, has a secret relationship with Rain, the manufactured pop star. When things go wrong, Rain lets Marley believe the reason was her fault. As with any good romance, it never stops there. Rain goes through some serious trauma that she keeps hidden, but Marley is there, 5 years later, to deal with it.
Lee Ann writes these rock stars so well. They are freaking lovable even when they are being shitty. Marley has morals even when he's been hurt. There is always multi-layers to her storytelling, which always keeps you invested. She's one of my favorite writers for keeping the page turning, because everything is written with a purpose. There's no fillers for the sake of just writing more. You really don't want to put the book down.
There's angst and spice and happily ever after. Oh, and there's Thomas Locklear's growls (swoon!).

Amazing
I have loved all of L. Ann’s books so far and this is no exception. I had been waiting forever for Marley and Rains story so when I got it I grabbed it and held on for dear life reading it. This is a powerful insight into how bad artists can be taken advantage of. They can lose out on everything in a heartbeat from their royalties to their own sanity wondering which way is the best to turn at a time of crisis. This is the raw and gritty story that L. Ann tells but Thomas Locklear and Elise Hoffman bring all that to life in such a realistic way. The way they perform the roles was fantastic and has you feeling everything within the story. This was definitely one to listen to alone with headphones. I’m looking forward to listening to this author/ narrator combo again soon as they all have a fabulous chemistry that seems to bring out the best of everything the collaborate in.

Amazing dual narration from the wonderful sexy voices of Thomas Locklear and Elise Hoffman. You can you feel the heat from them.
Marley is a hot Rockstar, with a gently heart. When he sees Rain across the bar and he had to speak to her. She was drunk making him feeling protective. He whisks her away, to stop anyone take advantage of her, not even himself. They are adorable together and even though Marley wants the world to know they were a couple he keeps the affair quiet.
This book has heat, steam, angst and wonderful characters.

Rain and Marley
Rain and Marley
This story is so good. These two characters has so much chemistry even though they are not supposed to be together. The sex is very hot and for a minute I thought this was going to another sexy erotic story only. I was wrong this has great sex and a fantastic story to go with. It will make feel good and piss you off at the same time. I loved it. This is book 1 but it does complete this couple however the epilogue leaves you hanging and wanting more. This is my first by the author and female narrator and they were great. Thomas however is so sexy and hot and satisfying 🥰 I highly recommend this book. Sisters Spotlight 💕

Outstanding Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Emotional!
I am a huge fan of L. Ann’s books and absolutely loved her “Forgotten Legacy” series, narrated by the talented Thomas Locklear. I was sad when that series ended but was happy to hear she was not done rocking it out and had another series planned. “Black Rosary” is here, starting with “Fractured Angel” and I love, love, loved it! And a bonus it is set in the same world as her “Forgotten Legacy” series, well technically that series in set in this world, since the Black Rosary came before them and it was their label who signed them to their record deal. This story follows Marley, the front man of “Black Rosary” and co-owner of a record label, created by the artists for the artists and pop princess Rain whose stage name is “Rainbow”. Rain has been in the public eye since she was six-years-old and her father who managed her sold her out to the record company they contracted her until she is twenty-six. They own her, dictate her every move, from what she wears to who she can be seen with. Her sister was her personal assistant for a while but after she left, she became even less happy, but meeting Marley and stealing time with him was what she looked forward to. A secret romance until she ages out of her contract, but her manager, Maxim, is making more demands on her and making her miserable. I am not sure who I despised more, Maxim or Finlay, the artist they had riding Rainbow’s coattails. This story spams over a decade, the first five years was Marley and Rain’s secret love affair, then all goes to heII and Rain’s life as she knew crumbles all around her and she loses everything including Marley. The story picks up five years later when Karl comes up with an idea to bring Rain back into the business and he wants Marley to be the one to entice her to come to their record label, NFG. Rain broke Marley’s heart five years ago, but when he finds Rain she is a shell of herself and he then learns nothing was as it seemed. Marley's and Rain’s love story was a journey through time and an emotional rollercoaster ride. As always, L. Ann’s writing, plotting and world building are phenomenal, as are the character growth and development. The story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. L. Ann, thank you for another amazing story and start to a new series.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, the mega talented Thomas Locklear and Elise Hoffman are the perfect cast to bring the characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting, and they were believable in every role they played. Locklear the rockstar is a natural in his role as Marley, swoon worthy and all. Hoffman played Rain’s role perfectly, grasping every side of her personality. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
