About this listen

Fresh from the success of capturing Gwain’s Keep, Alpha Company is in high spirits. Flush with coin, everyone is eager to get better gear and see what new zones they can go fight in.

Not everything is roses though, as the first testing phase is about to come to an end. A number of those who ventured forth with the guild are about to return to their regular lives, and the next wave of testers brings even more players to embrace Alpha World as their new reality, if only for a limited time.

Alburet has new complications to deal with, but he doesn’t have to face them alone. Two other loving women - Fluffball and Karen - whom he has accepted the love of will be at his side as the revelation of his past comes out.

Will Alburet be able to handle what he has hidden from himself, with the love of the trio of women beside him? Or will he break and fail, leaving his spirit fractured?

Wonderful Escapism

There's something about this series. It's absolutely not the greatest story ever written, some of the plot lines are dragging out too long and it can't seem to decide how adult it wants to be, but I find myself looking forward to each new book, thoroughly enjoying the performance and then being disappointed that the next one isn't yet available. It's wonderful escapism and a really good listen.

Another brilliant edition to the series.

Books 4 and 5 are very much intertwined and are best suited to read back to back. we learn a lot about the MC and some truths behind lies we were told. This is a fabulous series and a great story.

Good story but starting to verge into erotica

There has always been sex in this series but I think it makes 1/3 of the narrative in this.

losing the plot

very well narrated as have the previous Alpha world stories. however these are just turning into the authors 4 way fantasy fettish. its nice that he's discussing mental health and trying to heal people but I'm pretty sure there was one part which said the word love 10 times within a 60 second clip. lose some of the kissing/sex and love announcing and get back on with what could be an interesting story!

Too much sex, not enough story

I've worked my way through the other books so was excited when I saw this one had been released, now it's finished I feel it's the weakest so far. there wasn't enough adventuring and with too much time spent on the sex the book was over before it really got going. The narrator was very easy to listen to as he was previously.

Strayed from what makes LIT RPG’s great

I feel like Daniel has strayed from what makes lit RPG’s great ( adventures. Epic quests, loot, boss battles and leveling up). I saw it in the last book but thought I’d give this one a chance before I make a decision. He’s concentrating to much on the drama and mental health between the characters. I feel like the majority of story I’m sitting in a therapist office.

A hard listen but well worth it!

One of the best books I've listened too. The Narrator pulls off extremely difficult scenes whilst telling this compelling story!

Not what I was expecting

There were some small bits that needed to be said, but other than the last hour or two, this book could have been summarised in a page or two. Also I’m not a fan of harems or sexual fantasies in general and the series has been heading more and more down that path. A shame because I loved the first couple.

Let down

I loved the 1st book and the following 2 but after that it’s gone down hill. The story is perhaps 90% repetitive emotional nonsense and 10% lit RPG. I doubt very much that I will continue with this series unless I have spare credits that need using. A real shame as the series showed real promise

Is the author a sex starved teenager?

I am a fan of the genre and have listened to the other books in this series. I've never thought this was the best series but like to give it a listen. This book was the worst by far though. I can ignore the 'fantasy' that all these girls just want to get with the guy and want to have all types of sex, OK whatever. The time spent on this aspect of the story though is so out of proportion it becomes tedious and you fast forward through it, if you have any sense you do anyway. I notice the author doesn't want another guy involved in the 'marriage' possibly points to his own insecurities and or inadequacy.

The dialogue has always been slightly embarrassing but it reached new lows in this book. I will keep listening in the same way i love sci-fi b movies or Steven Segal films, it's that bad it's good.
