About this listen

John Wallace survived. Now he has to take control and find out who he can trust in this high-octane follow-up to Pendulum. Fans of Simon Kernick and Terry Hayes' I Am Pilgrim will not be able to pause this.

Eight months after confronting Pendulum, John Wallace is losing himself in a dangerous war zone in a misguided attempt at penance for what he has done. But an assassination attempt makes Wallace realise that he has once again been targeted for death.

This time Wallace is prepared, and, tracking down his would-be assassin, he discovers a link to his nemesis, Pendulum. The link is the missing piece of a puzzle that has tormented FBI Agent Christine Ash ever since they confronted Pendulum, but with no bureau support she has been unable to progress with her case.

Wallace's proof breaks it but also exposes them both to terrible danger. Confronted by a powerful, hidden enemy, Ash and Wallace must overcome impossible odds if they are to avert a dangerous challenge to the networked world that threatens to destroy our way of life.

Fantastic and thrilling book right to the very end! It follows on brilliantly from Pendulum and I enjoyed it so much, I’m about to start the final book in the John Wallace series, Aftershock!
The narrator was great and very expressive. It was my 1st experience of Audible and I’m very impressed. Listening to the book through my AirPods has meant I can get housework done at the same time, it’s a win/win!

100% Must Read/Listen! Thrilling from start to finish!

Great story, well written, can't wait for more. This keeps you gripped from beginning to end

Amazing second book

I really enjoyed this book, and for what it’s worth I thought it better than Pendulum, onto Aftershock next. For me the best I’ve listened to by this author is Black 13.

Had to keep listening to this. was captivated from the beginning. The narrative was compelling

On the edge of your seat story.

I really enjoyed the first Pendulum audiobook - fast paced, exciting, a good plot that followed on logically. But this one was none of that. The three main characters each followed a plot that got more ludicrous with each bit of action. It felt like the author was adding more and more just to make them appear super heroes. It took so long to reach the crux of the story I had lost interest. I won't listen to anymore in the series and I wouldn't recommend this story to anyone.

Too long......much too long!
