A good collection of short stories
I really enjoyed late returns and faun
The others were enjoyable, I really struggled with a couple of them and that meant it’s taken me over 1 year to finish. Never really had me hooked to pick it back up.
For that reason I can’t quite give it a great rating I put that down to some of the stories not being for me. They are good value for your credit and you may get more mileage out of and the mix of narrator’s was something I liked.

A bit boring, sadly.
I was looking forward to listening to this. Being an avid Stephen King fan, (well, certainly his earlier stuff anyway), I thought this would be interesting.
Unfortunately, the stories weren’t scary and thrilling or even particularly eventful. I actually fell asleep listening to a couple of them. I guess if I had to pick any, “In the tall grass” wasn’t too bad and “You are released”, although the ending of the latter happened just as the story was getting interesting.
The voice performances were pretty good, for the most part, although the voice of the kid in “The the Tall Grass”, was like fingernails down a blackboard, and not in a scary way.
So, to sum up, it didn’t do it for me I’m afraid. I wanted scares but I got mostly snores.

Amateurish
Awful amateurish performance and writing. I was sucked in by the all-star cast, but after two chapters I just couldn't stand any more.
I don't know who the narrator of the second chapter is, but after a good 30 seconds of him doing an impression of a truck horn getting louder, I just switched it off and refunded. It was like listening to a two year old who'd had too much sugar. Why would you pay for this amateur-hour drivel?
And then the writing. Open with some childish, unnecessarily prolonged, 15 minute step-by-step gloryification of some essentially everyday event: a road accident. But with little annoying quips thrown in that shows the author's appalling lack of knowledge and research... "It was like the truck was supercharged! Was it even possible to supercharge a semi?!" Erm dude... all modern "semi" tractor units are. That's what "turbo" is short for, you berk: turbine-driven supercharger. Stupid thing to say on so many levels.
Nah, just awful. Jarring narration and disappointingly second-rate story-telling. Never got to hearing Zach Quinto or Kate Mulgrew. Hang on, Wil Wheaton as well? Was he just at the Star Trek bus stop so they trawled him up in the same net?
