About this listen
Disaster.
There was no other word to describe how Operation Olympic had changed in a flash from a triumph to the worst failure the Merry Band of Pirates had ever experienced. A failure that meant the fight was over. Unless the Pirates could perform a miracle, without Skippy.
The Expeditionary Force saga continues with Gateway from epic sci-fi writer Craig Alanson and narrated by none other than R.C. Bray.

Bring on the Ruin!
Great listen as always.
I both want to see the series end, but also always want to have more stories from this universe, so that is when you know it's a great series.
SPOILER!
Another juicy cliffhanger, the next book can't come soon enough.

Just finish it up already.
I used to love this series so much. Just finish it already and move on Craig, this dead horse is whipped enough. It’s become so predictable, so repetitive and the constant cheesy cringe filled one liners are really tiring.

Comfort listening
I’m always so pleased when this series has a new instalment, the story is well developed, characters are believable and lovable and the pacing is perfect. The formula for these books isn’t tired, it has been perfected, and Mr Alanson has delivered exactly what I wanted from another adventure for The Pirates. Wonderful!

I loved it!
Ok, for me, it was not as good as Valkyrie or some of the earlier books but was better than TFH. At this point I am here for the characters and charm at this point. I wont drop spoilers, but although there was some predictable bits there was also some moments I didn’t see coming. 10 points to anyone who picks up R.C Bray’s error 😉.

Editing errors
At one point, the reader read a line in the wrong voice - that is to say, he read the line as a different character than was actually the character doing the talking in the book. It was confusing at first and, when I realised what had happened, quite disconcerting.
