Im Anfange des Herbstes 1809 verbreitete sich in der Gegend von Schlan (einem Städtchen vier Meilen von Prag auf der Straße nach Sachsen) das Gerücht einer Geistererscheinung, die ein Bauernknabe aus Stredokluk (einem Dorfe auf dem halben Wege von Schlan nach Prag) gehabt habe. Dies Gerücht ward endlich so allgemein und so laut, dass endlich ein Hochlöbl Kreisamt zu Schlan eine gerichtliche Untersuchung der ganzen Sache beschloss, und demzufolge eine eigene Kommission ernannte, aus deren Akten zum Teil, und zum Teil aus mündlichen Berichten an Ort und Stelle, nachstehende Geschichte gezogen ist.
