Mia is a 21st-century academic, Ashlee is a 19th-century psychic, and Lilac is a 13th-century priestess; what these three women have in common may open a gateway to the Gene of Isis. Traci Harding's fanciful first entry in her Mystique Trilogy feels like The DaVinci Code meets Indiana Jones with an all-female cast. Edwina Wren's performance is formal but playful. Her voice has an old-fashioned edge to it, suited to the varied time periods and otherworldliness of this audiobook.

If you could sum up Gene of Isis in three words, what would they be?

I found the story it self an interesting and engaging subject but I found the dialogue of some of the characters to be rather cringeworthy. I'm not sure if this was down to the deliverygiven by the narrator or the content of the dialogue spoken between characters but it felt cheesey and unbelievable in parts. However once a few chapters in I was mostly too engrossed in the narrative to notice.

Mysteriuos, full of strong women and mystery.

The storyline is masterfully made a great mix of overall tension and some fun. You have to continue hearing ;-)

What other book might you compare Gene of Isis to, and why?


It reminds me a bit of "Reflections in the Nile" (Time Travel Series) by Suzanne Frank but I think it is better.

What does Edwina Wren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I love how one women can impersonate with accents and the sound of her voice so many people and even men so nicly!

Absolutely loved this book. The way Traci Harding has tied together so many subjects and made them work, it could make you question your own opinions on life. Again for any dyslexic out there who enjoys the free fall of imagination when you get lost in a story, this is one for us :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this book although it is of a genre I don't usually read. I found I needed to run it at 1.5 speed because the reader,although very good, was very slowly spoken most of the time.

Brilliant book if you like Egyptian history/story telling and the belief in other parallel universes. Believable voices in character. Although got a little lost with all the time and dimension changes, the reader did an excellent job of remembering each characters voice.u
