About this listen

After focusing on topics ranging from teamwork and leadership to employee engagement and meetings New York Times best-selling author Patrick Lencioni has finally turned his attention toward his own craft—consulting and client service. Tapping into the simple but powerful model that his firm, The Table Group, has been built on, Lencioni presents what may be his most engaging, humorous audiobook yet.

Getting Naked tells the remarkable story of a management consultant who is trying desperately to merge two firms with very different approaches to serving clients. One relies on vulnerability and complete transparency; the other focuses on proving its competence and protecting its reputation for intellectual prowess. In the process of managing the merger, the consultant is forced to learn life-changing lessons that prove to be as relevant as they are painful.

As he does in his other audiobooks, Lencioni provides readers with concepts that are accessible and compelling. He explains the three fears that provoke service providers to unknowingly sabotage their ability to build trust and loyalty. And, as always, Lencioni provides a practical approach for overcoming those fears.

Special voice

I like the book but the voice, the tone and cadence kept me engaged. Great experience also from this perspective.

An important read that will change everything.

A totally immersive story, excellently narrated and thought provoking. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and didn't want it to finish. An insightful look into the fears I can relate to but don't often reflect on in order to address. This story brings to life why it is so important to be open and let your vulnerability show in order to tackle the real problems and not avoid or try and work around them.

Easy to listen to again and again

Although not narrated by the author, Getting Naked has great narration and a fantastic story. With very clear and very practical principles. I've listened to this story many times now and have also recommended it to my leadership team.

Another straight to the point masterclass

I have heard every single on of this author's books. All are amazing and spot on. Implementing it is tougher if you sitting next to idiot's in the leadership role. But do the best you can.

Simple, obvious and genius.

I love these books that make a point by telling a story. It made me laugh at times as I imagined the various scenarios etc and it was easy listening. The best test for me is when I actually look forward to driving or commuting so I’ve got an excuse to listen to more.

This is a great little book that makes the points very effectively. It makes a lasting impression and you’ll want to be a better human for having listened to it.

Good book, I know I will reference again and again

very well narrated, not keen on the tone used for dialogue between main character and wife, was a bit patronising and cringey, but the principle of those discussions were good, just fell short in the delivery. Overall good book and I will definitely try to incorporate these principles into my consulting work, feels right.
