About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before.

This audiobook is narrated by Richard Coyle, who starred as Moist von Lipwig in the television adaptation of Going Postal. BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.

'ALWAYS PUSH YOUR LUCK BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WOULD PUSH IT FOR YOU'

Imprisoned in Ankh-Morpork, con artist Moist von Lipwig is offered a choice: to be executed or to accept a job as the city's Postmaster General.

It's a tough decision, but he's already survived one hanging and isn't in the mood to try it again.

The Post Office is down on its luck: beset by mountains of undelivered mail, eccentric employees, and a dangerous secret order. To save his skin, Moist will need to restore the postal service to its former glory, with the help of tough talking activist Adora Belle Dearheart. Who happens to be very attractive, in an 'entire womanful of anger' kind of way.

But there's new technology to compete against and an evil chairman who will stop at nothing to delay Ankh-Morpork's post for good...

The first book in the Discworld series-The Colour of Magic-was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

A near perfect adaptation

Richard Coyle, reprising the role in audio form that he played in the TV adaptation has the voice and attitude of Moist von Lipwig nailed down. The various voices he uses are generally spot on, and in some of them it feels like there is more than one main narrator.

One of Terry’s Best

One of my favourite discworld stories brilliantly read and wonderfully performed. I have thoroughly enjoyed my commutes listening to this fantastic, complex, and humorous observation of our world through the description of the discworld. Terry Prachett lives on in these audible presentations of his wonderful body of work. Thank you!

Fantastic version

Thoroughly enjoyed this reading. Richard Coyle is an absolutely brilliant narrator, puts me in mind of the amazing Andy Serkis with his range of voices..I will be purchasing the other two without a doubt. Well done..

Five Stars All Round

So good, so very, very good. Loving these new STP audiobooks. Richard Coyle’s narration is excellent. I especially enjoyed the excursions to Peaky Blinders! Sir Terry is an unparalleled story teller and Going Postal is one of his finest. Five stars all round. (Michael).
