Magnificent
I’ve always been keen to learn more about those exceptional ‘Band of Brothers’. I wasn’t sure I’d like a book based on personal letters. How wrong I was. Once started I couldn’t stop listening. The story is fascinating and gives an insight into those true heroes. The narration was equally good. Can thoroughly recommend this to any with an interest in the subject.

what a great story of a hero's life and struggles.
I wasn't too sure what I'd think about this audiobook. as it's just the letters of Dick Winters, but, I found myself captivated with his look on life and management styles. constantly changing and adapting his views and decisions made. As the war waged on, you can hear the difference in words written to D. The things he witnessed and did, really changed him as the years went on. what a great story of a hero's life and struggles.

Wasn’t what I expected, but wasn’t disappointed either.
A much more intimate and close look at the man who would be universally beloved for generations to come. It shows a man who was truly a hero - and also shows many of his somewhat flaws.
I was expecting more of his actual actions, but these intimate letters and elaborated explanations of their context gives you a whole different admiration of the man and men of the time.

Amazing
Was just an amazing insight into the characters and time period. When listened to in conjunction with Band of Brothers it’s time we’ll spent

Very Enjoyable but Narration Wasn't Perfect
I very much enjoyed this audio book, It's always great discovering new sources and to recover Winters' wartime letters was a gem of a find. It was very interesting to hear his inner thoughts at the time. The narration, on the whole, was great. Roger Wayne had a great voice sounded a lot like Major Winters. However, it was very off putting when the narrator mispronounces very well known and names, usually of people and or places. Overall though this is well worth a 'read'.
