I enjoyed this book even more than I did the first one in the series. Although the character's experience as an writer is, in some ways, similar to what she went through - or, more accurately, what she put herself through - the meaning behind the title holds more depth. At its core, this is a book about identity - what it's made up of, which parts of it are varied and subject to change, which parts are fixed and immutable, and how very difficult it can be to come to terms with and accept one's true self in a world that's obsessed with image and fitting people into specific boxes. Christine Bernard deals with this theme with the honest frankness that you'd expect after her success with Mute.
Kendra's narration was perfectly suited to this audiobook, and her performance with each character - including one who quirkily speaks in various accents in the course of a single conversation - was flawless. Each character's voice was distinct and consistent, and I have no complaints on this score.
All in all, this is a great audiobook. Would definitely recommend

Having listened to book 1, I was eagerly awaiting book 2 and it did not disappoint. I laughed, I welled (almost cried), and I loved the characters. Christine has a way of bringing her characters to life whether they have a small or a big role to play in the novel.
As before, there are parts of Bex personality which I associated with and others which frustrated me, but it was all believable.
I would definitely recommend both Mute and Haze to anyone who has ever felt like they don’t quite understand people (which should be everyone because some people are just odd).

I was glad to get my hands on Haze when I realized it was the sequel to Mute. I enjoyed Mute so much and was hoping for a continuation of Rebecca Marley's story and wasn't disappointed. For once, I think the sequel might have even surpassed the original in pure entertainment value! The book was full of lots of funny moments, though Rebecca takes you through the emotional spectrum as she completes the challenges her fans set out for her while she tries to figure out just who she wants to be. Another reader described her as "fabulous, flawed and funny" and she is all of that - and in my eyes that makes Rebecca "normal" and, therefore, so very relatable. The only thing that kept me from giving this book 5 stars is my one frustration with her - she says she love Benjamin, and she's longing for him. He's told her he loves her but she doesn't even acknowledge that he's told her and does nothing with it. What's up with that? It seems so junior high school. However, despite my one pet peeve, I still enjoyed the book immensely and would recommend it!

Haze is the follow-up book of Mute By Christene. I enjoyed both books tremendously. I loved Rebecca in these books as she is just a character that I could identify with... her struggles, fears, insecurities, hopes, dreams and joys... all so real in a wonderful and cringe worthy way. I laughed out loud so many times in this book that Im sure people around me thought I was slightly crazy. All the other characters just added to the whole experience. I loved the narrator Kendra Murray and the way she brought all the characters and the situations to life.
