Summary
The Headshot Online Box Set is a LitRPG adventure set in a post-apocalyptic virtual world featuring hordes of undead. It's perfect for fans of Daniel Schinhofen, Tao Wong, and C.M. Carney.
Headshot has just gone live, and the whole world's playing the new Artificial Reality blockbuster. Unfortunately, unless you can buy your way onto the Survivor's side, you can only participate as a Zombie. Each week, the forces gather to tear each other down to the bone...until, at week’s end, the Apocalypse is reset.
Ryan's played the Beta for months, but now that his favorite game has launched, he finds it consuming his life - even as he struggles to decipher whether or not there's actually a way to succeed if you're not willing to Pay to Win.
But he’s got bigger problems to deal with. There’s something sinister going on beneath the surface of Headshot, and it looks like he’s wrapped up in it whether he likes it or not.
Narrated by the award-winning Vikas Adam (Divine Dungeon Series, Ritualist).
Books included in the set:
Book One: One in the Gut
Book Two: Two in the Head
Book Three: Three in the Heart

Good but it jumps up and down a bit much
Having read the 1st and 2nd book this was a great opportunity to finish the series. The 1st is quite enticing with the idea and works well although the MC is a bit whiny to start with. The 2nd audio works well as we see how he builds on bis knowledge in a slightly different scenario which was fairly well done and Vikas keeps it interesting but the 3rd just jumped into some things (no spoilers) a bit too much and although I seen why it was done i felt it was a bit too in depth and spent a little too long on this at the start and yes it did bring the action back to where my interest gained again it dipped a bit before coming to a great ending I think. The last chapter just wasn't what I thought so some may enjoy this but It fell flat for me I found so this jumped between 4 & 5 stars a lot and i think 4 stars overall for all 3 audios is probably fairer rating.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts

nice twist 👌
first off all the game environment makes sense making the story flow without any spots of incongruity.
second the development of the events one after the next ware nice and our side the norm so you could not predict where it would go next.
I enjoyed the whole series and am glad I found it ☺️

Not bad but a bit contrived
Story constantly takes painfully contrived lurches when the author drops in changes to the capabilities of the characters at just the right time to save the moment.
Also, the narration is overly earnest, as if every line carries heartbreaking significance which gets tiring quite quick and means he doesn’t have anywhere to go when the story requires additional ardence.
Altogether was fairly enjoyable but fairly trashy. The premise is interesting but the writing is forgettable. Would probably make a better movie than a book.

an unexpected take on the lit rpg genre.
Matthew Siege takes the LitRPG genre and gives it a new twist, even briefly exploring some of the darker aspects of gaming addiction, and (albeit currently Sci-Fi tech) full sensory immersion.
the story flows wonderfully and is expertly narrated by Visas Adam, who provides a wealth of unique voices, while skillfully conveying emotions and sensations.
I'll be re-listening to this once I've finished my back log of other audiobooks!

Could have been a real good series
This could have been a real good series. book one started off strong and I really enjoyed it. book to started off slow but got better and book 3 was the worst by far. What starts off as just someone playing a game trying to conquer it so changes into a conspiracy (spoiler) [and the game trying to take him over with him trying to escape.] The ending was also really bad, I think it was left that way to maybe do book 4 but after the last 2 I don't think I will bother. Overall it could have been really good, just failed miserably as the book went in another direction from the first book.
