My Review of The Newly Released Heart Swings by Renee Conoulty

Heart Swings is Renee’s newest release and another great audible book to wind down to for an hour or so. I really loved the two main characters in this book. I think they made this story magical and romantic, but they were also witty and a bit funny I also liked hearing about different wedding rituals and blessings which this book touches upon.

The story follows Brooke and Ryan as their paths cross at the airport. Brooke is on her way to a friend’s wedding and little does she know that charming Ryan is also going to the same place... Brooke has a lot on her mind as she makes small talk with Ryan about her future and where she wants to be. Will Ryan and Brooke be the next to fall in love? Or will their jobs and the life they love drift their worlds apart? You’ll have to listen to this book to find out.

Ryan was my favorite character; he has a boyish charm to him and always feels as though he is looking for a path in life, but still holding on to his life in the big city. I also loved his banter with Brooke because they are sweet and funny together. But also throughout the book, you find yourself holding your breath hoping by the end they will have opened the window of love for each other.

I also liked the mention of country and swing dancing. I felt this was described really well and I could imagine very clearly everyone trying to swing dance at the wedding and enjoying each other’s company.

I loved the end it leaves you smiling and feeling satisfied. I think anyone who loves a nice romance, with travel and wedding blessings will love this book and all the quirky and wonderful characters in it.

When I need to wind down, or am going for a walk, I love a short listen. Heart Swings was the perfect listen for me. It's a sweet romance, giving me all the feels and letting me fall in love. Ryan and Brooke cross paths at the airport, and not in a congenial way. When it turns out they are headed to the same city to attend the same wedding, we find this enemy situation slowly taking a turn. But there are obstacles in both their ways. Family situations, dreams they want to follow, will this couple who started out at each other's throats find their way to happiness? This is my first Renee Conoutly book, and I loved that it includes so many fun things. The main one I loved is swing dancing, something my brother taught, so it's always fun to hear it in a book. Conoulty also narrates her own story, so we are able to hear it as she has meant it to be heard. Loved her Aussie accent and enjoyed my hour to myself!

This was a good quick romance! Brooke is caught between crossroads in her life- stay in a small town to work for the family business or move on to the city to peruse her dream. Ryan has come back home to to help his family’s business, but he’s anxious to go back to his life in the city. The two happen to meet at the airport on their way to a wedding, but little do they know that they’ll be seeing each other more than that. Ryan was my favorite character and I loved that they were both so conflicted with what to do with their lives- it was very realistic and relatable. I liked the descriptions of the wedding rituals that were performed and thought it added a special touch to the story. This novelette was filled with romance, humor, and some angst.
Renee did an amazing job with this narration! This is one of the few times that I’ve listened to a author narrate their own book and I was impressed. I absolutely loved her Australian accent and she gave each character personality and emotion to bring the story to life.

Heart Swings by Renee Conoulty is a sweet romance novelette that I listened to on audio narrated by Renee Conoulty.

This is the first book of Renee’s that I have listened to it and it definitely won’t be my last. This was a short and sweet romance. I absolutely loved her Australian accent.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Romance Novelette’s.

What a lovely short and sweet book.

It’s actually the first time that I have listened to an author narrate their own story book. Very good, was enjoyable!

The audio performance by Renee Conoulty was very well done. This was a shorter listen at just over an hour, and is an insta-like, small town, story with a chance meeting. It was very cute and I wish there was more to the story, had great potential for a full book.

What sweet and crazy love story. Ryan character was so indecisive to the point of Irritation, it kept me from giving this book a 4 star rating. But this was a good short love story.

This was a great little listen which definitely fits the genre of chic-lit. With all the international best sellers out there its a rare treat to hear some Australian places and connotations during a story (narrated by an Australian!). I’ve got all of Renee Conoulty’s audio books so far and I’m glad I’ve got this one in my collection too. It’s got a bit of everything - travel, life choices, career, relationships and.... swing dancing! Definitely an author to follow.
