Summary

Summer, 1940. Hitler's army is advancing towards Paris, and millions of French civilians are on the run. Amidst the chaos, two British children are being hunted by German agents.

British spy Charles Henderson tries to reach them first, but he can do it only with the help of a 12-year-old French orphan.

The British secret service is about to discover that kids working undercover will help to win the war.

Great read but needs slowing down.

This is a fab book, I love all of the Cherub and Henderson boys series. The narrator is nice to listen to and reads well, however I did have to slow it down to 0.8x speed. I usually listen to books slightly sped up, but this guy seemed like he had places to go and people to see and sprints through the whole thing!

Works well slowed down and doesn't sound strange or distorted or anything, so the bottom line is if the sample speed puts you off (as it nearly did me) just keep in mind that it's perfect slowed down a little :)

unnecessary bad language and blasphemy – a real spoiler!

What could Robert Muchamore have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

cut out the swearing

What about Simon Scardifield’s performance did you like?

yes

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

listening to it on a car journey - I had to turn it off because I do not want my 13&14yr olds (recommended age group)listening to unnecessary bad language and blasphemy.
