When 16-year-old Alex's parents ask him to deliver a mysterious package to their animal research camp in the Nepali jungle, he and his 12-year-old brother James do not know the trouble they are about to face. Gripping Nepal adventure
Reading one of James and Alex’s adventures transports you instantly to Nepal. The everyday sights, smells and sounds are beautifully and accurately observed and woven into this gripping adventure. This story will transport you to Nepal and keep you glued to the tense story as Alex and James search for their parents. I loved it ! More stories please Jane.

Tale of adventure in Nepal
An exciting adventure story set in Nepal, written for children but great for adults. Lots of interesting facts about Nepal and its wildlife make the fictional story all the more compelling. Brilliantly narrated by the author

Beautiful descriptions & professional production
A lovely tale which had my kids on the edges of their eardrums. They particularly loved learning so much about Nepal in an organic and fun way. Not to mention all the cool audio snippets which are added so much in in a subtle way. It really felt like we were all there with Alex and James

Interesting setting and good story
From a family member who is not able to post for themselves with their own account:
From looking at the cover of the book I wouldn’t normally have chosen to listen to this audiobook. However I am pleased I did.
It is very interesting learning about Nepal and the characters surviving in the Himalayas. I didn’t like James's character because he farts a lot at the beginning and is mostly talking about food at inappropriate times. However I liked Alex's character and I liked the other main characters. I liked how Alex was so knowledgeable about animals and plants and ecological and animal welfare.
I think Jane’s voice is really good and the book is well read and easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to. Her reading is a lot better in my opinion than some other audiobooks I have listened to on audible and the library app.
The photos in the accompanying PDF really help the listener to visualise what some of the things and places in the book would look like and is a helpful addition. On the PDF I learnt that Jane had taken most of the pictures herself and written what they are. This validates her knowledge of Nepal and the animals and culture.
This book has an enjoyable story but also a serious animal welfare theme and interesting setting.

A lively listen!
This was an intriguing and stimulating story to listen to. The wildlife noises provided the perfect backdrop to a clear and well-constructed story.

Gripping and keeps one listening
The perfect blend of nature's beauty and also it's brutality. Fascinating adventure story interspersed with lots of fart and poo jokes which keeps the tenser moments lighter, Gorgeous jungle sound effects accompany the voice of the narrator/author, who does a great job of putting one in the mind of a teenage lad. I learned a lot about animals and fauna of the jungle along the way which was a pleasant bonus. As for the storyline, even before you get to the pinnacle threat of humans, it's one hazard to the next along the way; from leopards to near-drowning, to ghosts and cave rescues. And even sunbathing with crocodiles!
Make-shift jungle medicine, Friends and foes. This book has it all! Really enjoyed going on the journey with the boys. Need to read the next one now...
