About this listen

Much-Afraid begins her journey, crippled and disfigured, with the cry, "Oh, if only I could escape from this Valley of Humiliation altogether and go to the High Places." She leaves her Fearing relatives behind, and presses on to the Realm of Love. As the Chief Shepard explains, no Fears can live in this realm, because "perfect love casts out fears and everything that torments".

Written on a similar scale to the great classic Pilgrim's Progress, you'll travel along with Much-Afraid and her companions, Sorrow and Suffering, as they make the ascent to the High Places where the King of Love reigns supreme. And, you'll discover that as the journey transforms Much-Afraid into Grace and Glory, your heart will be changed as well.

I loved Flo Schmidt’s ability to bring the characters alive with her many voices. I felt like a child again, seated at the feet of a Master Storyteller. I wanted it to go on and to tell the rest of Grace & Glory’s journey in the Valley.
Scriptural truths woven together in a story which describes our journey with Perfect Love casting out all fear

A story which ignites child like faith

I read the book twice and wanted to listen to the audio book as well! The story had a very deep impact in my personal journey to the high places. Only minus, though the narrator was lovely, I didnt feel that the way she gave voice to The Shepherd was very fitting to Him... kind of strict.

Profound, sweet, heart and eye opening

I really enjoyed listening to this story/allegory of the journey to salvation and leading a christian life but the narration gave it a 'Disney' feel which didn't do it justice.

A good listen

Really enjoyed revisiting this book in audio format. In general I think the narrator does a good job with a range of voices although I found Much-Afraid a bit too ‘girly’ at times. Love this allegory- truly inspired.

Excellent
