Summary
The new thriller from the master of psychological suspense.
She’s a murderer. Everyone knows she killed Stuart Rees - why else would his dead body be found in her shed? So now Tabitha is in prison, awaiting trial. Coming back to the remote coastal village where she grew up was a mistake. She didn’t fit in then, and she doesn’t fit in now. That day is such a blur, she can’t remember clearly what happened. There is something she is missing, something important. She only knows one thing. She is not capable of murder. And the only one she can trust to help her out of this situation is herself. So she must fight. Against the odds. For her life.
Beautifully written about prejudice, loneliness and fighting spirit, this new audiobook by Nicci French is shocking, twisty and utterly compelling.
Critic reviews
"Great writing, razor-sharp plotting, and powerful characterisation. I defy anyone to see the ending coming." (Cara Hunter)
"Part ingenious locked-room mystery. Part you’ve-got-the-wrong-person nightmare drama. Part intricate memory game. Yet all seamlessly woven together. French’s best book yet." (A J Finn)
"Clever, compelling, original and twisty." (Erin Kelly)

Not usual Nicci French style
Although this book is not in the usual style of this author it is well worth a read. If you like courtroom drama then this book is for you. It is very well written & the narration is brilliant. I would certainly recommend this book

Keeps you guessing...
A great thriller and court room drama. The detail of what going through the UK justice system can be like was eye opening through the voice of the main character Tabitha desperate to prove she didn't murder Stuart Rees. I couldn't 'put it down' - keen to know what would happen next. Tabitha is complicated - and shows how so many people can be misunderstood, written in such a way to show that people can be both amazing and a bit crap. Highly recommended.

Twist till the end.
Brilliantly written, a clever take on the injustice of life. Narration and characterisation were believable. It's not a about proving innocence.......
