Summary
"A must read for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L. Armentrout." (G.K. Derosa, author of Darkblood Academy)
I meant to capture the prince’s heart...and ended up with a king’s.
My desire to sit upon the Lucin throne led me to revive an ancient, winged monarch; one I deemed a friend until that friend duped and imprisoned me.
Lorcan claims he’s holding me captive for my own safety, but then he also claims I belong to him. Slumbering for five centuries has evidently given the Crow King severe delusions.
We may share an unfortunate mind-link, but we are still masters of our own destiny, and I intend to steer mine away from the Sky Kingdom and its prophecies...away from him.
I quickly find out there is no escaping the possessive male. In all honesty, I’m no longer certain I want to.
Get swept away in the second installment of a slow-burn shifter fantasy series full of heartbreaking deceit, wicked supernaturals, and alpha males.

Absolutely brilliant story
Such an amazing story yet again by Olivia! Thank you so much! I didn’t love the narrations but it didn’t stop me from putting it on in the car when I had no time to read the book! I can’t wait to start book 3!

Was expecting more action and less inner monologue
Unfortunately I don’t enjoy this way of keeping secrets. The romance progressed nicely, since it is the main goal of this book. I did enjoy that Falon fought the link until she could no longer.
The cliffhanger is promising, stuff will happen.

Love this world and excellent adaptation
I absolutely love this world and the characters in it. The narrator did this story justice. Love her portrayal of Fallon and also love the chapter we get of Lore, too. It took me a moment to settle in to his voice, but it grew on me as Lore and gave me shivers of the good kind!
Story review:
It was such a wait for this second book, but it was well worth it! This book gave it all. We got more of the EPIC slow-burn between Lore and Fallon. And wow! Once that flame got . was HOT!! But the journey to get there was torturous!! There were times you wanted to scream at both of them! Some of this was eased but the absolute brilliance of their banter!
We delved deeper into the world of the Crows. Got some more Minimus and serpent action. More of our favourite supporting characters, with some development. A father-daughter reunion. And although we're not a fan, Dante is rising to the challenge of being the villain!!
And of course Olivia doesn't disappoint in her plot twists! She'll have you on the edge of your seat, trying to see what's coming next, being swept up in the storm and finding that you actually knew nothing!!!
Finally, the cliffhanger at the end leaves you clinging on for dear life, waiting for the final installment to answer all those questions and decide once and for all who will take the throne of Luce!!

Love this world & story but…
The first book was truly brilliant and I really enjoyed the action and plot driven story.
I was pleased that book 2 focused more on the details (a slower pace and more character development) to build on book 1.
However, there’s a huge problem here! Fallon is so so frustrating in this book - an annoying immature brat that’s eaten too much candy! It literally ruined the entire story for me, as I was expecting so much from her after book 1. So much of the plot was left stagnant and sour because of her childish attitude.
Nevertheless, the world building continued to be spectacular! The atmosphere, folklore, mythology and magic is absolutely stunning! I will read on (because I loved book 1 so much, find Lore enthralling ) and found the last few chapters thrilling! That ending!!!
Let’s just hope Fallon’s personality improves dramatically!

In love with this story
This story is fantastic. I can't remember a time when I have been so invested with characters and the worlds they live in. On to book three.

Good storyline
Really enjoyed the story, I think the voices do not match how I imagine the characters would sound. Some words are pronounced oddly but overall quite good

Good sequel
Felt it dragged a little in the middle but I’m ready for war in book 3.

Good sequel, but looking forward to more
Alright, let me give you the lowdown on the sequel. This time, the focus was on character development, and I have to say, it was a refreshing change. The world-building was still top-notch. I loved the combination of medieval Italian kingdoms and Celtic folklore; it created such a captivating atmosphere. While the plot had less action and felt like a filler, the story arc kept me engaged. Despite Fallon's flaws, I'm eager to continue the series, hoping for a significant transformation in her personality and a more fast-paced plot in the next book. And I have to mention, the romance was swoon-worthy and added a delightful touch to the story!

Captivating and enjoyable listen!
Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This book charmed many smiles and grins onto my lips and I am so rooting for the relationship of the main characters. Don’t hesitate to send your ears on this rolercoaster ride of emotions and unexpected plot twists.
My only critique:
In my opinion the sequel isn’t as strong as book number one.
If you dare to think about the logic behind the story, you might encounter some question marks and very slight disappointments that some of the indications of book 1 turn out to be dead ends.
