About this listen

What's a white knight to do when his princess is causing utter havoc leading in mass murder? Go to the famous Black Sorcerer of Grimslock for help, apparently.

What's a black sorcerer to do when the white knight comes to him for help? Keep him, naturally.

Devan does not approve of this payment plan. Tan does.

(This compilation includes a bonus short story. It is utter crack. Please do not look for any plot or serious element. You won't find it.)

What's Devan to do for his coronation? Hide.

What's Tan to do? Get a new crown.

Everything goes about as poorly as expected.

Themes: Black sorcerer, white knight, evil princess, oh my! This whole story is crack, technically an enemies-to-lovers tale, with light angst, mostly as an excuse for cuddles; sharing a bed, who hurt you is basically a marriage proposal; being adopted by a black sorcerer is like being adopted by a cat, you get no say in the matter; Tan is a walking disaster; Devan needs a hug, and Tan volunteers himself as tribute; I'm not saying baby adventurers are stupid, but if you put a candle next to their ears their eyes will shine; rule one when dealing with black sorcerers, don't piss them off; rule two is don't touch their knight; just a little killing; Serenity has successfully pissed Devan off for the last time; magical shenanigans shall now commence!

Love it

I read this series several times already and I know I will listen to it many times also. It’s funny, well written and full of snark and action. And it have a bit of heat to it. It got it all.

Re-released and so much better

When originally released, the narrator’s accent alternated between Irish and American and the audio levels were all over the place. It also sounded a bit robotic. This has now been resolved, the newer version available by just downloading again. The entire narration is now consistent and the voice of the narrator easy to listen to. There is the occasional overlap of voices still, the beginning of one chapter is repeated (due to this being a compiled work in which one book ended and the next repeated the ending before continuing the story), and the accents can be a bit weird, but nothing too bad and it does help differentiate the characters from one another. The story itself is fantastic. It’s incredible to think it’s as long as it is, as it holds your attention throughout and is perfectly paced. Would happily listen to again.

Excellent story awful narration

As expected from AJ Sherwood, another excellent story full of shenanigans.
The narration was robotic for much of it and the voices for each secondary character were terrible and very bizarre. Even Tan’s voice wasn’t good. Pity I can’t give zero.
The worst narration I’ve heard. Stuck with it because the author is a favourite.
I will not be listening to this again.

Good fun

I loved this book, it was easy to listen too and made me laugh. it was low angst and the characters were great. I hope the author does give us another book soon. The narrator was also good.

Terribly written but hilarious

Book is full of humour and sarcasm. I found it funny and entertaining but it's about as well written as a 12yr old writing fanfiction for the first time. I say this with experience too lol
