About this listen

Read by David Mitchell and Robert Webb the comedy duo tackle various subject matters in a 'How to Cope with…' guide addressing various scenarios, and everyday situations.

David Mitchell and Robert Webb tackle various subject matters in a 'How to Cope with…' guide talking you through every day scenarios and situations. The subject matters talked about are 'How to Cope with… Being Normal, Pubs, Being dumped Parts 1 and 2, Coffee, Malmaison Hotels, Nudists, The Smoking Ban, Actors, Servants and Getting Older'.
This recording doesn't need to remind us just how great Mitchell and Webb are as a comedy duo and will by no means need to even attempt at getting the listeners attention once the play button is pressed but will simply show us once more everything we know and love about Mitchell and Webb and why their quirky hilarity and foibles work so well together. For example… How to cope with Actors…Try "not be put off by their luvvie-ness" and "do not assume that all actors are all thick…Stephen Fry is an actor and also a world class boffin. David Mitchell's GCSE results are very impressive".

Critic reviews

Praise for David Mitchell and Robert Webb:

‘The new kings of comedy’ Radio Times

‘By far the funniest sketch show in ages … fresh and full of invention’ – The Daily Telegraph

‘Mitchell (the fat one who looks stuck-up and posh) and Webb (the thin one who looks selfish and stroppy) are talented writers and their current television series is genuinely worth staying in for. It’s a reminder (for those who despair at the lame hamfistedness of Little Britain) that British comedians can be both funny and clever’ Sunday Telegraph

Fantastic! Shame it's so short ..

What made the experience of listening to How to Cope with Mitchell and Webb the most enjoyable?

The fact they're reading it. A chapter each (not together) but it's still brilliant to hear.

What did you like best about this story?

The highlights of the book, good material well delivered

Have you listened to any of David Mitchell and Robert Webb ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is shorter than their other audio stories at just over an hour. And it is just them recording a chapter each (never together).

It doesn't compare to anything else; this is just them being funny. If you like Mitchell and Webb, you'll love it ... if you don't why are you reading the reviews? Move on.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh. Definitely.

Any additional comments?

Shame we can't have the whole book unabridged in audio (although given the description of the "missing" picture perhaps it's with good reason!).

Average

Not that good, somewhat banile. There are worse books for the money but not really worth it.

Short but sweet

Reads like a series of entertaining podcasts. Short (just over an hour) but worth the budget price. Amusing to hear Robert Webb ranting.

Nice little book

Really funny, bit short but understandable as the actual book is very visual. Still good

Very Funny

I'm so glad I now know how to cope with madness and my house servants. Thank you David Mitchell and Robert Webb. I hope to hear many sequels to help me cope with all the other important aspects of life such as how to climb a ladder (but for no particular reason) and what to do if your cook doesn't use enough seasoning

Love M&W, but this isn’t worth a credit

Far too short and lifeless delivery in places. Really disappointing, had I realised it was only an hour long I wouldn’t have bothered - not worth a credit.

1 hour of mildly interesting nonsense.

Normally a huge fan of M&W.

When purchasing this I didn't realise that it was only an hour long. 1 credit, essentially £8 for back of the napkin humour.

Rarely have I ever actually been incensed by a purchase but this is one of those times. I blame myself partially for not noticing the short length as an 'edited highlights' (wtf is that anyway???), essentially full price for a 'taster'. However I won't blame myself for the sub par, random, unconnected nonsense that they cover in this. I genuinely gave maybe 1 smile and one small 'huff' laugh the entire way through.

Take this crap down. Seriously.
