Summary

Nightingale Books, nestled on the high street in the idyllic Cotswold town of Peasebrook, is a dream come true for booklovers. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open. The temptation to sell up is proving enormous - but what about the promise she made to her father? Not to mention the loyalty she owes to her customers.

Sarah Basildon, owner of stately pile Peasebrook Manor, has used the bookshop as an escape from all her problems in the past few years. But is there more to her visits than meets the eye?

Since messing up his marriage, Jackson asks Emilia for advice on books to read to the son he misses so much. But Jackson has a secret and is not all he seems....

And there's Thomasina, painfully shy, who runs a pop-up restaurant from her tiny cottage. She has a huge crush on a man she met and then lost in the cookery section, somewhere between Auguste Escoffier and Marco Pierre White. Can she find the courage to admit her true feelings?

How to Find Love in a Book Shop is the delightful story of Emilia's fight to keep her bookshop alive, the customers whose lives she has touched - and the books they all love.

Lovely Story, Terrible Narrator

Always fab to read a new VH & I enjoyed the story, although didn't feel it was one of her best.

The narrator was terrible, her voice was all wrong for the characters, most of the female characters sounded the same, so it was often difficult to tell who was talking, if no other indication had been made.

A sweet story

An easy listen and rather sweet but no shocking moments or twist or turns. Was a nice listen over the Xmas period but wouldn't recommend to friends.

A confused start

A bit disjointed to start but once your got the characters in your mind it went well. Not one of Veronica’s finest.

Sweet summer read

This book started very well and I thought it was going to have real depth, but after about a third of the way in it descended into a sickly sweet tale of happy ever afters. A nice book if you're after something light and untaxing.
The performance was good, although the narrator's tone did perhaps increase the sickly factor at no fault of the author.

A hug in a bookshop!

A gentle story with likeable characters and well narrated. If you like a happy ending this is for you - predictable but happily so. Really enjoyed this.

Easy listen, comfy chick lit

A nice book to wind down with, right balance of romance, lifestyle and ambition.
Happy believable ending

A little bland and predictable

At the beginning when we heard about love and death and how things unfolded I really thought we would hear about the struggles of a single middle class dad and what he faced, however it quickly changed and then involved lots and lots of what seemed like short story's inside one book.

All The characters and all there new partners could do spin off books, they would be much more interesting to read.
