Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of How To Stop Brexit (And Make Britain Great Again), written and read by Nick Clegg.
Keep calm - but do not carry on.
There is nothing remotely inevitable about Brexit - except that it will be deeply damaging if it happens. Extricating Britain from Europe will be the greatest challenge this country has faced since the Second World War. And as negotiations with the EU expose the promises of the Brexit campaign to have been hollow, even some Brexit voters now wish to exercise their democratic right to change their mind, seeing that the most pragmatic option is to...stop. It would certainly be the best thing for Britain.
But how can it be done? Haven't the people spoken?
No. In this indispensable handbook, Nick Clegg categorically debunks the various myths that have been used to force Brexit on Britain, not by the people but by a small, extremely rich, self-serving elite, and explains precisely how this historic mistake can be reversed - and what you can do to make sure that it is.

Good book but preaching to the converted
Nick Clegg is a very intelligent man and he has a lot to say. His insights into how Brexit can be stopped were helpful and interesting. I did enjoy this book.
My main complaint though is that the first half of the book is pretty much preaching to the converted. No one would buy a book called "How to Stop Brexit" if they were not already (probably quite strong) remainers. He spends too long making the case for remain.

Bad things happen when good people do nothing
Whilst it might be doubtful that this will actually have much effect, you have to hand it to him for at least standing up and doing something about it. He provides a good analysis of the background to the referendum, and how it was far from an example of democracy. a strength of this is that he does at least suggest some concrete steps that we could all take, to actually try to make a difference. It is very easy for people to sit around and say that it is terrible that it is happening, and assume that it is inevitable, but it is just that inevitability that politicians rely on in order to pursue whatever it is they are trying to pursue.

Insightful
Well written, researched and read by Nick Clegg. He presents a reasoned argument based on evidence rather than scaremongering and ‘fake news’. Clegg gives good advice too. A good read for Remainers but Brexiteers should take note too!

We needed you!
A failed politician or a fallen angel, a guiding lights to sense of reasoning and unity? Thank you for speaking out, you might have temporarily given up on politic but I am glad you haven’t turned you back to influencing it as you have in this excellent book. A lot of our young graduates might have not forgiven you not standing firm against the Conservatives in tuition fees while you were part of the government, but they should certainly thank you for fighting now for their future to stay in Europe . Excellent warmed hearted guide!

Informative but not without flaws.
I think this is certainly an interesting read, Clegg makes some well-reasoned and thought-provoking arguments albeit ones that have already been voiced many times. He puts across possible reasons for leaving the EU throughout in a fair way, countering each one in turn. However, I believe the book's strongest element comes with the highly compelling condemnation of some of the leave campaigns most vocal characters. As well as those who hide in the shadows , purporting to care about "the people" when it suits them. However, I find some of the arguments such as "older voters have died off, so let's vote again" or "people didn't know what they were voting for" highly presumptuous, desperate, lazy, illogical and rather disappointing. I also found a rather large contradiction in the argument that the EU will now reform following Brexit and Trump (assuaging British fears of a possible reentry) whilst at the same time arguing for increased integration and "more Europe not less". Overall though, Clegg's condemnation of prominent brexiteer incompetence/deception, his acknowledgement of EU flaws and willingness to persist in his belief means this short book was certainly an interesting listen/read. Would recommend.

There is hope yet.
Enjoyed Clegg's passionate and reasonable tone. It's definitely an optimistic view, but then again when has serious optimism ever been a bad idea? Only loses stars for being a bit short.

Spot on
A very concise read and genuinely easy to digest all information. A real expert opinion that offers sober judgement but also uplifting suggestions to combat such vitriolic and often down right daft brexiteer sloganeering.

Nick Clegg is a brilliant narrator, and he delivers this with passion. If you want to stop Brexit this is a must . Many ideas on what you can do and helps justify your actions. However, it a short work (which for some is a positive as text is to the point) and would recommend more Nick's autobiography Politics Between Extremes which is brilliant and covers in detail Europe / Brexit (albeit less so from perspective on what we can do against the Brexit process). Added comment Dec 2021: despite everything that is said here the LibDems and Labour did not support Theresa May (and those loyal Conservatives to her whip) and her softer Brexit deal: the political parties were more interested in an election which they lost badly to the Boris and his popular slogan "get Brexit done".

A voice of reason in utterly mad times
An absolute delight and a much-needed infusion of reason in an era of utterly mad politics. All that Clegg says makes so much sense: His assessment of the referendum, it's legitimacy, it's results and mostly, it's consequences and validity.
As the referendum has been over a year ago and evidence mounts on false promises and seriously damaging consequences we need to reassess the situation, not stick by our guns in a false sense of loyalty to a narrow once-pff snapshot of the electorate.
Regardless of your opinion on Brexit, there is a lot of political wisdom and analysis of errors in our thinking. It's brilliant.
While I;m not sure a movement, such as Momentum was for Labour, could stop Brexit via Conservative Party channels, I feel that the template letters at the end are an excellent tool.
Clegg remains one of the greatest political minds.
