Reflection on Grief
Having two close nurse friends who both lost adult children has given me a window into a kind of pain that’s unimaginable. These are women who have dedicated their lives to healing others, yet they’ve faced a wound so deep that even their professional skills can’t touch it. Listening to them has taught me that losing an adult child is a unique form of grief. It’s not just the loss of a life; it’s the loss of a future, of dreams unfulfilled, and of a bond that had grown and evolved over decades. What makes this book particularly valuable is its focus on the unique aspects of grieving an adult child. The author recognizes that this loss is different from other types of bereavement, and they address those differences with care and sensitivity. The advice is practical, but it’s also deeply empathetic, acknowledging that the journey through grief is not linear and that it’s okay for healing to be slow and uneven.

Soothing Listen
This was simply a beautiful and soothing balm for the soul. Grief can be so difficult to carry endlessly, particularly when it is our own child. This wonderful book opens the door to insights and a deeper understanding of the emotions that come with dealing with the loss. I'm glad tools like this one exist to support us and speak to us from a perspective of someone who truly understands.

Healing one day at a time
I found this audiobook when I needed it most. Dealing with any death is difficult, but your own child is something else. I have been to see counselors and such but I needed to do something myself. I found this amazing audiobook to be so easy to listen to; the author was really talking to me. The information is well organized, and I have listened to it a few times already. I highly recommend it.
