About this listen
If God can take David - the invisible eighth son of a forgotten family - and turn him into a king, just imagine what magnificent plans He has for redeeming your life.
David was born a number eight - a hidden gem, often overlooked and undervalued by everyone except for God. For David, being a number eight seemed like a curse until the day God transformed him from the unknown eighth son of Jesse into the much-honored king of Israel.
When God sends out an invitation to greatness, His directions don't always make sense to us. You may feel like the most invisible, broken number eight out there, but God sees your hidden value and is growing you for better things. David didn't know it, but his time as a simple shepherd with a dull future did not go unnoticed by God. In David's darkest moments, he was cultivating the kind of gifts, wisdom, and leadership he would need to become a king.
Even when you're an underdog in the eyes of the world, God is working behind the scenes to develop you into a king or queen.

Wow Amazing story!
I listened to this in one day, from beginning to end Pastor's John's amazing story was overcoming, some of which I can identify with being the eighth child, always felt on the outskirts, never fitted in. It was narrated excellently and overall captivating, funny in parts and some serious transparency.
Loved it . It brought a lot of reassuring answers to questions I've had to the forefront using the story of David being the marginalised so. A great read if you're looking for answers on life's unanswered questions on where you might fit. 10/10

God's got this.
This journey from obscurity to an international platform demonstrates that there is purpose for everyone. It's in our hidden from view moments where our characters are forged and made. With God everything is possible and permissible.

Inspiration, practical, cross cultural & spiritual
John Gray uses humour to mask really impactfull advice borne through overcoming personal adversities. He has no Holly than Thou tone, but a tone of someone who has and is going through challenges to become the best gift God made him to be in a world full of hurt. I recommend this eBook even to persons of other faiths and cultures, for pain and overcoming it has no boundaries.

More than what I expected!
John Gray beautifully dissects the life of David and shows parrallels between David's life and ministry and his life and ministry. Filled with humour and honesty, this book blew me away and made me realise that my time in the field is just as (if not more) important as time in the palace. God has a plan for your life! In every season He is equipping you for where He's taking you! My first audible read and it was such a great one!
