I've been on a path of personal development for years and everything builds on the other. This book was SO refreshing and different to other self improvement books I've listened to. It was really fun to listen to (despite the sometimes poor audio quality). I was delighted to learn something completely new (breathing and the brain functions) and for the first time in years I've listened to a book twice in a row, and still enjoyed it as much the second time around. Absolutely loved and enjoyed this book and would certainly recommend it to those who want to achieve what the title of the book says. It certainly has given me new angles to tackle goal setting and I'm excited to do what I know to do now :)

Nick Hall Phd is an incredible scientist who is able to put across very complex subject into understandable bite size doable action points to help anyone who is well and truly stuck with immobilising beliefs about themselves. The title of this book truly follows through with what it actually says!

I have listened to this book few times. this book covers an incredible amount of research of practical situations and how it connects to each and every area of your life. I have gone ahead recommended this book to several friends of mine even on my Facebook page, I believe loads and loads of people need to listen to it as I believe we are over thinking and getting lost in our own thoughts it's worth listening that it's normal and we can fix it.

I’ve seen a number of negative reviews regarding this book. Personally I found the structure and sound quality distracting at first but then became immersed and very interested in the lecture format and the excellent delivery of very technical information.

I’ve learnt a tonne about the relationship between my brain and the effect that emotions, thoughts and behaviour have on my body. It’s incredibly inspiring

When I started to listen to this book, I didn't think I would see it to the end.

How wrong was I?

After a while you start to get to know Nick Hall and relate to his stories and mindset

I found myself totally enthralled with it and listened right to the end

And Yes, I have learnt from it and put into practice some of what he discusses

Anxiety is prevalent as our culture encourages comfort. Recover fast and crack on is a motivational message I had from this. Other 'mogul' type motivation will promote values and beliefs most will not truly believe within their conditioned responses. There's something for everyone what ever their personality type here.

Nick is not only incredibly knowledgeable about why we d what we do but also he is an amazing story teller! There were maybe a couple of short chapters that were not that fascinating but other than that absolutely amazing book about why we do what we do and why we don't do what we want to do! Exactly as the title says. Recommend 100%!
