About this listen
A tragic accident. It all happened so quickly. She couldn't have prevented it. Could she?
In a split second, Jenna Gray's world descends into a nightmare. Her only hope of moving on is to walk away from everything she knows to start afresh. Desperate to escape, Jenna moves to a remote cottage on the Welsh coast, but she is haunted by her fears, her grief, and her memories of a cruel November night that changed her life forever.
Slowly Jenna begins to glimpse the potential for happiness in her future. But her past is about to catch up with her, and the consequences will be devastating....

It would be a spoiler to give any more details, but around chapter 24, a year after the accident, the story is transformed as Jenna’s backstory starts to be revealed, including the existence of an estranged husband. From then on I was glued to my headphones eager to hear the next twist and turn of the story that rapidly gains momentum.
Don’t be put off by the seemingly slow start to the book. These early chapter get one involved with the characters and when the story took off it meant that I was really involved with their lives and cared what happened to them.
Having two narrators, a male and female, works well as both are able to modulate their voices to make the various characters sound life different people.
An impressive first novel

If you could sum up I Let You Go in three words, what would they be?
An emotional rollercoaster! (in the good sense of the words)! What was one of the most memorable moments of I Let You Go?
The loving caring quiet persistence of Patrick to keep loving and helping Jenna even when she pushed him away out of fear - can't say any more or will give out spoilers! :)Have you listened to any of David Thorpe and Julie Barrie ’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No but certainly would listen to more - they are excellent narrators and really help you A +++ to relate to the characters and feel each one's personality good/bad.Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It would have been if had been able to but still was gripped by it - a great story and would recommend to readers who love this genre. The narrators definitely added to that!!Any additional comments?
Again without spoiling it for anyone, David and Julie's narration was above par - nothing personal against David may I say but got SO angry at a certain character he played in the story that wanted to thump him!!!A mystery thriller that keeps you guessing!

What did you like most about I Let You Go?
part 2 when the pace rocketed and story completely changed. Although I hated Ian, the introduction of his charactor completed the story and added to the spine chilling pace.Who was your favorite character and why?
Loved Ray and Kate, they added a little bit of humour to the serious scary story. I also got addicted to the hatred of Ian.Which character – as performed by David Thorpe and Julia Barrie – was your favourite?
Ray and Ian. I felt David Thorpe did an exceptional job of performing those 2 characters, to begin with I didn't even know it was the same person doing the narration, I thought there were 2 male narrators, the difference in the characters were the extremes of humans. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
oh if only I could have. I got really addicted at Part 2.Any additional comments?
I almost decided not to listen to this book at all, I bought it 18months ago and couldn't be bothered to listen to it, then I decided to just get it listened to so could clear out of my to listen to list. Oh my god, so glad I did. I was in complete rapture, it was addictive, the narrators were spectacular, I did get annoyed with Jenna and her charactor but overall completely addictive and fired real proper hatred, as its meant to.such clever, clever writing, have gone straight onto I see you.
knock out thriller - blood curdling
