 Al Circo Balumba c'è qualcosa che non va: serpeggia molto malumore nell'aria e gli artisti non riescono a lavorare in tranquillità. Le due star del circo, la Donna Baffuta e la Donna Cannone continuano a litigare e più di qualcuno teme che presto succederà qualcosa di brutto. Ed è proprio quello che succede: una notte, all'improvviso, qualcuno tenta di tagliare i baffi alla Donna Baffuta. Chi sarà stato? I clown iniziano a fare un gran baccano e incolpano la Donna Cannone che, secondo loro, sarebbe invidiosa del successo della Donna Baffuta, colpevole di averle rubato la scena. Inutile dire che nel Circo scoppia il Caos e nessuno si fida più di nessuno.

Per il Direttore Ridolotti è proprio una brutta gatta da pelare, e alla fine soltanto con la sua saggezza e la sua perspicacia riusciranno a riportare la pace e la serenità nel grande Circo Balumba.
