In the UK, someone is reported missing every 90 seconds.
Just gone. Vanished. In the blink of an eye.

DCS Kat Frank knows all about loss. A widowed single mother, Kat is a cop who trusts her instincts. Picked to lead a pilot programme that has her paired with AIDE (Artificially Intelligent Detective Entity) Lock, Kat's instincts come up against Lock's logic. But when the two missing person's cold cases they are reviewing suddenly become active, Lock is the only one who can help Kat when the case gets personal.

AI versus human experience.
Logic versus instinct.
With lives on the line can the pair work together before someone else becomes another statistic?

In the Blink of an Eye is a dazzling debut from an exciting new voice and asks us what we think it means to be human.

I thoroughly enjoyed this plot. The addition of an AI officer was informative and interesting giving a procedural plot a really captivating twist. I enjoyed the characters and found myself waiting (and wanting)to find out about their individual back stories. The narration was excellent and added to my enjoyment Will definitely recommend this one

I found this an original and thought-provoking story. I really enjoyed the AI debate and the underlying comments regarding policing and medical research in the UK. Found the conclusion a little cliche and predictable, but otherwise a very engaging read/listen.

Original & thought provoking story.

I absolutely flew through this, it kept me awake listening and it stayed interesting throughout. Great narration, clear and realistic characters, good dialogue, fantastic story that really makes you think. Book of the year for me (and it’s only January). Can’t wait for the author’s next book.

Amazing, gripping book

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. A paged turner that didn’t let me put the book down.

Refreshing

A great mix of humour with a darker story. The AI aspect wasn’t too far fetched. Loved it!

Compelling

Excellently told story.

I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a mashup of crime and SciFi, it turned out to be a well told story, with believable characters, and a modern twist of 21st century technology. I look forward to the next episode!

Very interesting perspective on the use of AI
