About this listen

There are many who say that the art of diplomacy is an intricate and complex dance between two informed partners, determined by an elaborate set of elegant and unwritten rules. There are others who maintain that it's merely a matter of who carries the biggest stick. Like when a large, heavily fortified and armoured empire makes a faintly menacing request of a much smaller, infinitely more cowardly neighbour. It would be churlish, if not extremely dangerous, not to comply; particularly if all they want is a wizard, and they don't specify whether competence is an issue.©1996 Terry and Lyn Pratchett (P)1996 Corgi Audio Fantasy Fiction Paranormal

Tony Robinson brings Pratchett to life

Tony Robinson's manor really suits this book. 5 stars for this absolute Pratchett classic and one of my favourites.

It's Pratchett, obviously it's good.

Brilliantly funny commentary on the culture of East vs West, Tony Robinson's voices are hilarious if borderline racist on occasion but he's baldrick so I'll forgive him, classic Rincewind fantasy adventure.

Brilliant abridged version - sherbet fountain!

Another fantastic book, another brilliant reading (abridged) by Tony Robinson. Loved the detail of including the sherbet fountain

ABRIDGED

I hadn't realised that this is the abridged version so I'll be returning in favour of the ebook - a shame as I enjoy Tony Robinson's narration. The updated version with new cast comes in at about 11h and this is only 3h, so I feel like the majority of the story is missing.
