About this listen

A dazzling Audible Original written by Natalie Cooper, performed by Jenna Coleman (Victoria, The Cry)

Iris Nightingale is more than okay. She has her life planned out to a perfect schedule. Work, run, sleep, repeat. She spends her quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park, trying to push back the memories that no amount of running can help her escape.

But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

Hired as a consultant at the firm where Iris works as engineering manager, Hunter has a knack for knowing just what to say to irritate her, and Iris can’t help rising to the spark in his eyes each time.

Sent away on a work trip together, Iris is taken out of her comfort zone. As their connection deepens, will Iris finally be able to face the memories that have been haunting her for years? Can her blossoming relationship with Hunter survive some brutal truths?

Only one thing is certain: The spark between them is beyond Iris’s expertise, and there's no running away from it.

SO much more than Okay!

This was a stunningly beautiful book, a romance with depth and I completely fell in love with the characters, their chemistry and their journey. Natalie Cooper’s writing and Jenna Coleman’s narration were the perfect combination and moved me to tears more than once.

The love in spite of loss

A truly wonderful story from an author that’s new to me. I couldn’t stop listening. The twist in the story was heartbreaking but thank goodness for a happy ending

A lovely story

I really enjoyed this story. Very easy and romantic with a twist I didn’t expect. Was sad when it finished. Narrator was lovely too.

Great characters

I loved this story and was intrigued and invested in it from the first few paragraphs. The 'banter' between the two main characters, Iris and Hunter was a joy to hear and hearing how Iris's view of him changes throughout the chapters. I thought the story was well written, a moving and thoughtful plot, with well rounded friend and colleague characters too. Jenna Coleman's narration was perfect, bringing the right touch to all the voices.

A romance with an unexpected twist

I’m not a romance type of reader but this book was recommended to me.
The characters quickly form and there is warmth to them that enders you to them. There is a twist to the story which was expected but not the reason I thought.
A roller coaster of emotions which I bought into totally. A feel good book.

So so

Easy listen but predictable from the start and a little slow. Well read by narrator but probably just not my type of book

is ok

The reader has a really odd pronunciation of “tongue”. it makes one very aware of how unusually often ( compared with my personal day to day conversation) that particular part of the human anatomy features in the narrative.

Lovely story with a great twist!

Really nice story.
Just the narrator kept saying tong instead of tongue which I found annoying! A silly thing I know.
