About this listen
A practical joking rock star. A cash-strapped jewelry designer. Can the prankster get serious enough to turn a one-night stand into lasting love?
After the breakup of Kings Quarters, Oliver Eastland joins a new band on tour where he’ll do much of the same: make music and perpetrate practical jokes on his new bandmates. Despite the perks of band life, he’s eager to make an enduring romantic connection.
Rowan Edwards is an aspiring jewelry designer slogging away her days as an assistant photo editor while enduring the sexual harassment of her lecherous boss. Under a mountain of college debt, she can’t yet afford to leave her job and pursue her artistic dreams.
But when Oliver and Rowan hook up for an epic one-night stand, can Oliver prove he’s no joke and their love is meant to last?
If you love steamy rock stars, witty banter, practical jokes, villains who get their comeuppance, and combustible chemistry rolled into a fast-paced story, scroll up now to buy.
Joke’s On You is the third in the Starfish: A Rock Star Romance series (after Starfish and Dear Future Self). It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.
Trigger warning: Workplace sexual harassment

Love it!
I am not sure how Lisa Becker does it, but his novella has stolen my heart in 2 hours! Oliver is the piano player for a popular rock band. Rowan is a photographer looking for a night of fun. Not one for one night stands, she can't resist the charms of Oliver, but before we awakes, she is gone leaving him a note. Does this deter him? No, and his persistence is worth it. A romance where love for the person is forefront, relevant work situations brought to light and music make this a great listen! I loved it!
Connor Crais and Stella Hunter are such fantastic story tellers, and they fell into character with ease. Crais has an easy warmth that came through in Oliver. I enjoyed hi romancing Rowan. Rowan is strong in some scenes and frightened in others and Hunter brings all the different feelings out. I enjoy his team whenever they perform together and this casting was spot on.

Light and fun but still has the steam!
I love this series and this book didn't disappoint. It's a nice change of pace to have a Rockstar romance without the heavy angst. Oliver's story was just as good as the others and I hope there are more to come. Connor and Stella did a great job as always!

Stands alone but better in series
This is technically a stand alone story, however I'm sure I enjoyed it more after listening to Starfish where Oliver and his pranks are first introduced. (Disclaimer: Starfish is one of my all-time favorite audiobooks.) Joke's On You shows that there's so much more to Oliver than my first impression.
Stella Hunter and Connor Crais did an excellent job with the narration and I highly recommend listening to the Starfish series.

The emotions were there
This author writes the most delicious romcoms. The characters are swoon worthy, the stories are just sexy enough, and there’s always a more serious element.
Here she writes about sexual harrasment in the workplace. The struggles, the acceptance, the coping mechanisms–Rowan experiences all of that, and through all, gets the support of her best friend, and later Oliver. I loved how this touchy subject was treated.
But we’re here for the romance, and the author delivers. It was a bit too short, so a lot of the growing relationship was skipped, but there’s an instant connection between Rowan and Oliver, and it wasn’t hard to see that it could become more than just the one night stand they promised to each other. They were both cute and hot together.
As for the narration, it was quite good! The male narrator’s voice is growing on me, and I already enjoy the female narrator’s work. They may have lacked a bit of the energy necessary for the comedic aspect, but the emotions were there.

Amazing Story & Listen🎧 An Enthralling Delight!
I am a huge fan of Rock Stars and Rock Star Romance novels and Lisa Becker’s Starfish series is one of my favorites. Ms. Becker is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, I loved the characters and storylines she created they are original and unique, nope they are not your typical angsty rockstars they are so much more. In the first book we are taken on tour with “Kings Quarters” and meet Jase, Johnny, Oliver, Craig and Brad. Oliver Eastland was the prankster of the bunch and one of my favorite characters. And I am so happy that he got his own book, it is great to see him again and to learn more of who he is and where life has taken him. If you have not started this series I highly recommend that you do and now is the perfect time because it is offered in a box set. Oliver is doing well for himself these days, each member went their own way after Kings Quarters split up. Oliver a musical prodigy still makes music and plays, he always liked to stay in the background so instead of joining a band he just tours with them. One night he decides to go out with the band after a photo shoot. It is a gay club and he was not expecting to meet any one but he does, he meets and hooks up with Rowan Edwards. Rowan Edwards works as an assistant photo editor, it is not what she wants to do but it pays her bills. Her dream job is something she does on the side, she designs her own jewelry and one day it will pay her bills. She is good at her photography gob but has a boss who is inappropriate, she deals with him for now but she is smart about how she handles him. After a bad day at work she and her roommate and best friend Rolando go out for drinks at Haven, a hot gay club. Rowan does not normally do one night stands but she and Oliver hit is off, there was something about him that drew her to him. They had one hot night together but she left in the morning without a word. Oliver knew he had to see her again and did just that. This may be a novella sized book but it sure does pack a whole lot of story, I loved the witty dialogue and how everything plays out. The story is cleverly plotted with drama, a touch of angst, humor, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Lisa Becker thank you for another awesome story!
🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Stella Hunter and Connor Crais are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying these characters, humanizing them as they bring them and their story to life. I love how they take each role and make it their own while sounding natural and believable in that role. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor flawlessly. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Love, love, love 💘
Oliver and Rowan are just a complete delight. Both kind, sensitive, funny and talented, their love story has made my day distinctly brighter. Lisa Becker writes romantic comedies starring characters to fall in love with and this is no exception. The narrating skills of Stella Hunter and Connor Crais work to enhance an already lovely tale, bringing so much humour and warmth to the story. Their voices are melodic, warm, rich in expression and I felt I could hear their smiles. A delight from start to finish and definitely act as a wonderful finale to the Starfish series 💖💖💖💖💖
