Summary

A popular guy and a shy girl with a secret become unlikely accomplices in midnight pranking and are soon in over their heads - with the law and with each other - in this sparkling standalone from New York Times best-selling author Anna Banks.

It's been several years since Carly Vega's parents were deported. Carly lives with her older brother, studies hard, and works the graveyard shift at a convenience store to earn enough to bring her parents back from Mexico.

Arden Moss used to be the star quarterback at school. He used to date popular blondes and have fun pranking with his older sister, Amber. But now all that has changed, and Arden needs a new accomplice - especially one that his father, the town sheriff, will disapprove of.

All Carly wants is to stay under the radar and do what her family expects. All Arden wants is not to do what his family expects. When their paths cross, they each realize they've allowed their lives to be driven by the wishes of others. Just like real life, Carly and Arden's journey toward their true hearts - and one another - is funny, romantic, and sometimes harsh.

It was really good!

I originally started but thinking it was good but cheesy, ended up having much deeper meanings behind everything. Was really fun and loved all of the plot twists!!

Male narrator spoils this entertaining story

Anna Banks uses her well written, sympathetic characters to explore issues our society choses to deny and her plot-driven novel makes it an exciting and enjoyable experience.

Kyla Garcia is a very good narrator and voice artist. She never fumbles her words, brings exactly the right tone to accurately convey each element of the story, the emotions of the characters. She also to differentiate between the characters so it is always clear which character is speaking.

Andrew Eiden is as bad a narrator as Kyla Garcia is a good one. He has the loud, authoritative voice of a middle aged man. It is totally at odds with a story focusing on two young people as the main characters. The producer should have cast a young man as it spoils this otherwise very good audiobook.
